The Procurement Specialist is responsible for vendor relationships, sourcing, and purchasing components to support various departments within the company.
Overview
Role Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for all aspects of component purchasing and sourcing, which includes vendor relationships, sourcing, creating purchase orders, as well as receiving reconciliations. The role will support the Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Science, and Marketing groups for all raw materials and packaging supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize sourcing strategies to secure stable supply of critical oil, raw ingredients, and packaging that reduce out of stock risks
- Create and process Purchase Orders, while working closely with Accounts Payable team to follow all accounting protocol to support three way matching process
- Communicate closely with field personnel on proper receiving protocol and following up with vendors on any quality, shipping, or receiving issues
- Evaluate sourcing productivity opportunities related to centralization, standardization, internal vs external manufacturing, lead times, and quantity discounts that support balanced inventory needs
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operational functions on strategic partnership opportunities that balance supply and inventory targets
- Work closely with Supply Chain Manager and Centralized Warehouse Manager to ensure all orders are placed to forecast needs and arriving to support production requirements
- Collaborate with Marketing and Compliance functions to ensure all sourcing changes will follow brand strategies
- Develop and maintain supply chain reporting tools that help influence decision making and performance improvement, which includes creating company wide purchasing and budgeting KPIs
- Support launch of new company wide ERP system by leading procurement initiatives and establishing thorough understanding of the system

Pay range: $65000 to $80000 per year

Desired skills
Education and Experience
- BS degree in Business or related field is preferred
- 3+ years of working experience within Sourcing, Procurement, and/or Buying with heavy emphasis on CPG related raw materials and packaging supply
- Strong ERP system experience – Acumatica ERP is a plus
- Strong Excel skills – VBA skills are a plus
