As a Product Manager, you will manage the growth and profitability for various lines of business across both Digital and Traded distribution channels. The line of business responsibilities include General Liability, BOP, Cyber, and Professional Lines. You will set the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders such as engineering, design, marketing, sales, underwriting, claims, and customer service. You will be a coach and leader in cross-functional teams that develop growth and profit initiatives and objectives.
You will also have the responsibility for building the product management discipline within the organization, establishing best practices, processes, and tools to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency across all product initiatives.
The role sits within the wider Product and Portfolio Management organization and will work closely with the 20 person team, as well as other teammates across the business.
The Main Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role Include
- Conducting market research and analysis to identify customer segments, needs, pain points, opportunities, and trends in the small commercial insurance space
- Developing and communicating the product vision, strategy, and roadmap that align with the company’s goals and objectives
- Defining and prioritizing the product backlog and features based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility
- Collaborating with engineering, design, marketing, sales, underwriting, claims, and customer service teams to deliver products that meet customer requirements and exceed expectations
- Managing the product launch and go-to-market activities, including developing product positioning, messaging, pricing, and distribution strategies
- Measuring and monitoring the product performance and customer satisfaction using quantitative and qualitative methods
- Soliciting and incorporating feedback from customers, stakeholders, and users to continuously improve the product quality and user experience
- Creating the product team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and coaching
- Building and maintaining a strong product culture within the organization that fosters innovation, collaboration, and customer-centricity
- 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, risk management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of the small commercial insurance market, customer segments, competitors, trends, and opportunities
- Exceptional skills in product visioning, strategy formulation, roadmap development, prioritization, and execution
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Highly analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to use quantitative and qualitative methods to measure product performance and customer satisfaction
- Creative and innovative problem-solving skills, with the ability to generate new ideas and solutions that address customer pain points and create value
