SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Product Manager is responsible for product planning, enhancing existing products, ensuring customer satisfaction, and working closely with cross-functional teams to meet sales and profitability goals in the finishing machinery sector.

JOB TITLE: Product Manager (Finishing)

REPORTS TO: VP of Sales- Fabrication Division

SUMMARY: Product Manager is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including but not limited to: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, increasing profitability of existing products, implementing product strategies for existing and future products, working closely with suppliers, sales, service, application and marketing teams to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Product manager will analyze the market positioning and potential, develop strategy, campaigns, quotes, initiatives and programs to support sales and marketing. Product Manager will maintain a close relationship with the factory and be responsible for implementing MMS’s R&D on New products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by management.

 Create sales data and all related info on new product offerings, continued RD through the life cycle of the product

 Manage entire product line life cycle by defining product strategy and road map.

 Act as point of first reference for all product related inquiries for sales team. Work collaboratively with colleagues to research and address any issues that may arise in product lines.

 Support sales and marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise. Develop sales tools and product documentation with sales management for inside and outside sales force. Conduct technical product presentations for existing or future product lines for sales and service teams.

 Responsible for reviewing product data to ensure that the sales and service teams are kept up to date on new developments for all product lines.

 Maintain knowledge of market trends and developments and monitor industry best practices.

 Research and analyze market conditions to identify key competitor/consumer trends for development into company product offerings, opportunities, product innovation, and enhancements on existing or future Laser product lines while comparing to competitor offerings in the market.

 Visit manufacturers to recommend the nature and scope of existing and future product line offerings derived from market research, reviewing competitor product offerings, and appraising new product ideas supported by ongoing visits to customer ensuring products support company overall strategy.

 Work with sales management to prepare short term and long term product, special reports or analyses for the product line.

 Supply application team technical documentation to develop customer and market requirements. Brief manufacturers on current problems in the field or at beta sites; develop timelines and roadmap for implementation of updates for distribution to customer base thru service team.

 Work with sales and application teams to develop product presentations for machinery demos to showcase product lines.

 Create Market Research and Product Research documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification

 Obtain product market share by working with sales management to develop product sales strategies.

 Work with sales team to develop strategic analysis, evaluate competitive offerings/pricings, sales performance; execute strategic direction and consider field inputs to develop recommendations for sales force, event campaigns and product marketing to generate product awareness and demand

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIRMENTS:

 10 years + experience in the industry, or equivalent

 Bachelor’s degree a strong plus or equivalent

 Previous product management or related experience

 Technical background with experience in Lasers

 Must be able to travel 25% of the time. (Passport required)

 ERP/CRM Experience, Sales Force and AX a strong plus

 PPT, EXCEL, Strong presentation skills

In addition to the above requirements, a strong understanding of the fabrication industry and general machine shop operations is preferred. As product manager you are a team player, good communicator but at the same time also possess strong analytical skills, capability to develop vision and strategy that fits with the company overall goals for the product lines.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 Ability to work independently and use judgment to determine product problems without direct supervision.

 Ability to interact with customers in a way so as to maintain customer confidence in MC Machinery and MC Machinery product.

 Ability to identify opportunities to sell customers additional MC Machinery products and to sell product in such opportunities.

 Considerable knowledge and the ability to apply the principles and practices to the functionality of finishing machines sold by MC Machinery Systems.

 Knowledge of Deburring, leveling, and finishing techniques, programming, controller functions, and troubleshooting techniques, as well as ability to train technicians /applications team/customers/sales team on proper usage of such techniques.

 Ability to independently diagnose and treat a variety of problems or situations and modify as deemed necessary.

 Knowledge and ability to apply industry standards that may not be completely applicable to the work and may require adaptation, modification or deviation.

 Ability to effectively document and communicate ideas, strategies, problems, and solutions in both verbal and written forms to co-workers and customers.

 Ability to prepare written reports and other necessary supportive documentation.

 Ability to travel to various customer locations as necessary.

 Ability to create strategic and effective solutions for product development. Also known as R&D

 Comprehensive mastery of applicable industry standards and the ability to draw upon that knowledge to create innovative solutions for customer needs thru market research.

 Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of finishing machines.
