SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Product Marketing Specialist will drive product development initiatives and collaborate across departments to ensure timely launch of personal care products, utilizing market insights and process improvements.
The Product Marketing Specialist will coordinate and work hand in hand with the Marketing Product Development Director to drive marketing product development initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring the successful and timely launch of new products, across a range of personal care product .categories. It involves extensive collaboration across multiple departments, including Marketing, Graphics, Operations, International, Quality, and R&D, to bring products from concept to market. The ideal candidate should have a background in marketing or communications with experience in product development coordination and a strong interest in the cosmetics and beauty industry.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Product Artwork Label Creation: Manage new product artwork and label creation projects from start to finish, including use of multiple languages, collaborating with Graphics and Operations teams to ensure accurate and timely completion.
- Marketing Project Briefs: Create comprehensive Marketing Project Briefs for all new developments.
- Product Web Details Creation: organize and distribute new product details for effective online sales use.
- Product Launch Analysis: Analyze sales and performance metrics of product launches to assess success and areas for improvement.
- Market Research: Conduct thorough, concise, and informative market research for new core products and seasonal trends. Regularly present findings to the Marketing Product Development Director and other teams as requested.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with multiple, inter-departmental teams to ensure all marketing product development timelines are met, ensuring a smooth and efficient product launch process.
- Process Improvement: Suggest and implement processes to increase efficiency within the product development lifecycle and beyond.
- Team Support: Ensure that cross-functional teams are equipped with all necessary product information and training prior to each new launch, line extension or discontinuation.
- Product Sample Coordination: Working closely with the Operations and Warehouse team to coordinate the shipping of products to designated employees/executives, all company events, and production samples needed for marketing use (photography, for example) prior to launch.
- Quality & R&D Collaboration: Partner with Quality and R&D teams to review and approve new product standards and production batches.
- Event Representation: May be asked to represent SeneGence at events and shows, coordinating and managing product experiences at company-hosted events – occasional travel may be requested.
- Communication: Follow up on communications with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring all parties are aligned on project timelines and objectives.
- Presentation Support: Provide general support as needed for presentations, meetings, and communication of Marketing PD activities and accomplishments.
- Project Management: Support the Marketing Product Development Director to ensure project deadlines are consistently met within the scope of project milestones.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Strong understanding of beauty and personal care market trends, with a desire to continually hone expertise.
- Skilled in market research and presenting data-driven insights.
- Highly organized with strong project coordination skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proactive approach to work, with a focus on process improvement and efficiency. Highly productive.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively, maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities, with flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative team player, capable of seeing projects through from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of effective use of AI tools
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications.
- 5+ years’ experience in a product development coordination role.
- Strong interest in cosmetics, beauty, and skin care.
- Previous experience in the cosmetics industry or direct sales industry is a plus.
- Occasional travel and participation in company-sponsored events may be required.
