ECHO Incorporated is seeking a Product Training Specialist to develop and deliver technical training for various diesel-powered equipment, ensuring customer success and satisfaction through engaging and effective training programs.

ECHO Incorporated is seeking a skilled Product Training Specialist to create and deliver top-tier technical training materials. These materials will be tailored for both internal and external audiences with diverse technical skill levels. Key areas of focus include diesel-powered generators, welders, light towers, compressors, and other diesel-powered construction equipment commonly found in equipment rental yards.
The salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000 based on experience and qualifications. 25% domestic and international travel is required for this role.
This is a hybrid position that will offer the flexibility of working from home and on-site at our Lake Zurich facility.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive product training and service education for ECHO/Shindaiwa equipment, enhancing product knowledge, customer success, and satisfaction for internal staff, distribution/dealer personnel, and end-user customers.
- Develop and adhere to departmental standards, style guides, requirements, and protocols.
- Conduct training sessions locally and at customer sites to support ECHO/Shindaiwa distributors and dealers, improving customer confidence and product reliability.
- Deliver courses and materials through various platforms, including in-person sessions, ECHO’s learning management system (LMS), and potentially live virtual or pre-recorded training formats in the future.
- Develop and deliver specialized training sessions for distributor personnel to efficiently diagnose machine issues, enhancing repair efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the video production team to create training videos, serving as the subject matter expert for script and content review, and potentially appearing in or hosting video series.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of product-specific sales and technical courses, including online distance learning programs for the LMS.
- Provide subject matter expertise to support the Service Department, Product Marketing, Sales, and Parts Marketing.
- Travel as needed to develop and deliver training to internal staff, distributors, dealers, and end-users, while maintaining certifications and staying up to date on best practices in power generation equipment training.
- Create, update, and maintain curricula, lesson plans, and classroom reference materials.
- Conduct student and course evaluations, track costs, and drive continuous improvement in training programs.
- Perform additional duties as needed, including assisting with special projects and supporting the Training department and other teams.
Job Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of three (3) years of industry experience, or equivalent experience, in Adult Education, Training Development, or Continuing Education within an industrial equipment setting.
- Strong technical knowledge, competency, and aptitude in diesel-powered power generation equipment.
- Hands-on experience with power generation repair, including troubleshooting and on-the-job training.
- Comprehensive industry knowledge of best practices in training development and delivery.
- Proficient in training curriculum design, development, and instructional methodologies, with strong presentation and classroom material preparation skills.
- Skilled in instructional design methodologies and effective teaching practices.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, with the ability to learn and use additional software as needed for training program development and delivery.
- Highly motivated, creative, and innovative, ensuring training classes are effective, engaging, and provide measurable value to participants and their organizations.
- Exceptional classroom presentation abilities, including effective demonstration and instruction techniques in both classroom and shop settings.
- Strong understanding and ability to support the company’s training strategy.
- Capable of innovative thinking, challenging the status quo, and promoting continuous improvement across all training programs.
- Skilled in building effective relationships throughout the organization, demonstrating objectivity, respect for individuals, and fostering collaboration to create a positive work environment.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
- Proven adaptability, openness to constructive feedback, and ability to adjust behavior accordingly.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.
Education: A high school diploma is required, with a BS or BA degree strongly encouraged.
Travel: Approximately 25% domestic and international travel will be required.
