SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Program Coordinator for Goodwill Southern California will drive the Verizon Skill Forward Program's visibility and enrollment through strategic outreach, community engagement, and effective program management, while ensuring alignment with the organization's mission.
The Program Coordinator implements and coordinates Goodwill Southern California’s Verizon Skill Forward Program. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all Skill Forward recruitment and engagement efforts, aligning outreach strategies with Goodwill SoCal’s mission and goals. The Program Coordinator is pivotal in developing program visibility and driving enrollment internally and externally by building awareness through meetings, media, community partnerships, and social media. Additionally, the Program Coordinator is responsible for budget management, data recording, and outcomes reporting to maintain program efficiency and demonstrate impact, adapting outreach approaches based on community feedback and participant needs. This role requires strong collaboration with Goodwill Southern California teams and active engagement with local communities to maximize program utilization and success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Program Implementation and Coordination: Lead the implementation and ongoing coordination of the Verizon Skill Forward Program, ensuring alignment with Goodwill SoCal’s mission and goals.
2. Outreach and Recruitment: Serve as the primary contact for recruitment and engagement efforts, enhancing program visibility through outreach strategies, community partnerships, and social media.
3. Budget and Reporting Management: Oversee budget, data tracking, and outcomes reporting to monitor program impact and efficiency and adapt outreach as needed.
4. Content Creation and Marketing: Develop and distribute marketing content to promote the program and related services to job seekers and the business community.
5. Internal and Community Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams and engage with local communities to maximize program reach and success.
6. Digital and Media Engagement: Utilize digital media and tools to expand mission program reach, build community engagement, and strengthen Goodwill SoCal’s online presence in coordination with Marketing.
7. Creates, develops, and executes successful and creative digital marketing, using tools such as e-mail, social media, digital advertising, and website. This includes filming internal success stories for public/multi-media channel distribution and producing stories and digital content.
8. Writes, posts, analyzes, and improves social media engagement for the organization’s mission and as part of the overall social media calendar.
9. Assists with producing and serves as a marketing representative at community impact events, business events, and grand openings. Takes photos, as needed, of program participants and events.
10. Manages the process of creation of video content and messaging to grow social media channels, e-mail communication, and website traffic.
11. Provides person-centered perspectives and ideals through marketing tools and products by engaging regularly with program staff and participants.
12. Develops and maintains timely and accurate metrics reports, including but not limited to digital media program outcomes and effectiveness, strategic goals monitoring and highlights, and general marketing reports.
13. This position requires extensive local travel (50% to 90% of the time), to visit GSC locations and centers on a weekly basis to meet current ambassador team members and establish working relationships. A valid CA driver's license and state-required auto insurance are required. Driving record must be acceptable by the company’s insurance vendor.
Education & Experience
- 3-5 years of nonprofit program support or social media marketing experience.
- A bachelor's degree from a four‐year college or university in project management, education, social work, urban planning, communications, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledgeable in the budgeting process.
- Experience in implementing programs serving persons with disabilities and other populations facing barriers to employment; basic ADA knowledge required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly skilled presenter.
- Bi-lingual fluency (e.g., English/ASL, English/Spanish, etc.) and ability to understand another culture as required by the program or local community highly desired.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills with the ability to motivate teamwork.
- High accountability; Ability to meet outcome metrics with minimal supervision.
- Must have advanced knowledge proficiency of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
- Salesforce Database or CRM familiarity preferred.
- Project Management Software preferred.
- Pre-Employment drug screen, background check, education and employment verification, LiveScan and MVR required.
