SUMMARY:
MV Ventures (“MVV”) is seeking a passionate and experienced Programming Manager to lead the internal and organic programming initiatives at Viking Lakes. This individual will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and managing diverse events and programs that enhance community engagement, brand visibility, and overall campus vibrancy. From vendor markets and movie nights to a 4th of July Festival and Winter Skolstice, this position will keep campus active year-round. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills, a passion for event planning, and a commitment to creating memorable experiences for guests and stakeholders.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive events and programming calendar, aligned with Viking Lakes' strategic goals.
- Collaborate with leadership to design year-round programming that supports campus objectives and community engagement.
- Serve as the lead for Winter Skolstice, Viking Lakes ambitious 90-day winter program.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other partners to ensure high-quality execution.
- Manage budgets, ensuring events are delivered on time and within financial parameters.
- Foster relationships with local organizations, businesses, and cultural groups to create collaborative programming and campus activities.
- Work closely with marketing teams to promote events and maximize attendance.
- Collaborate with other campus events and programming professionals, including the Minnesota Vikings and Omni Hotel, to create synergies with the programs offered and co-promote.
- Ensure event spaces are set up according to specifications and safety standards.
- Develop and implement processes to streamline event logistics and operational efficiency.
- Assist in the end-to-end planning and execution of rental events, including corporate, community, cultural, and private gatherings.
- Monitor and evaluate event success, providing post-event reports and insights for continuous improvement.
- Lead and mentor event staff, volunteers, and temporary personnel during events.
- Assist the Residential team in programming resident-specific events at their communities.
- Collaborate with the Partnerships team to build partner relationships and meet activation goals.
- Process and ensure all permits, contracts and event insurance protocols are in place.

The Events and Programming Manager will work primarily on-site at the Viking Lakes campus, a dynamic environment featuring a mix of sports, hospitality, residential, and commercial facilities. The role requires physical activity, such as walking and lifting, and may involve occasional travel to promote events or collaborate with partners.
EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in event planning and program management.
- Background in organic event programming and venue activation preferred.
- Experience working with corporate and community stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think creatively and solve problems effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in event management software and tools.
- High attention to detail, demonstrating initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, and integrity.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while also effectively working as part of a team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 lbs. Will be on your feet and mobile frequently, both inside and outside of buildings.
- Ability to work outside for long periods of time, in various temperatures and weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
