Public Relations Specialist - Tech Pr (In-Person San Marcos, Ca)

We are looking for a talented public relations specialist specializing in Tech PR to help manage client campaigns, pitch media, and contribute to creative brainstorming.

For this position the owner is looking for a team member to collaborate in-office 3 days a week.

We create high-fidelity campaigns based on consumer economics. Clients come from a variety of industries, and are looking for creative ways to land media coverage as their primary goal.

Your time will mostly be split by:

• 50% email outreach for media placements
• 25% content creation & ideation
• 25% account & project management & PR strategy

You are a good fit if you're:

• Has experience managing multiple client accounts in an account management role (partial or full-time)
• Experience with traditional PR activities including media monitoring, market research, and media relations
• A creative marketing professional, preferably with a writing background.
• A strong love for media outreach

Responsibilities

• Lead PR planning and account management for
• Lead media outreach for tech PR clients
• Research trends & media
• Brainstorm and manage content marketing campaigns
• Pitch media - journalists and bloggers - for about 15-20 hrs a week
• Collaborate with design and writing teams to produce high-fidelity content
• Develop editorial calendar, delegate tasks and ensure deadlines are met
• Edit, proofread and improve content
• Optimize content considering SEO and Google Analytics
• Analyze web traffic metrics

Skills

• Love for understanding media industry and trends
• Loves pitching media outlets 15-20 hrs a week
• Exceptional and fast email management skills
• Understanding of web publishing requirements
• Editorial mindset with an ability to predict audience preferences
• Hands-on experience with reporting metrics & KPIs
• Project management skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and writing skills in English
• BS/BA degree in Marketing, Journalism, Comms or relevant field (flexible on this - English, History, math, CS and general business majors also great)

Pay and Benefits

• Salary: Open to both junior and senior applicants pay commensurate with experience. Salary is based on market rates for San Diego, CA.
