The Vice President (VP) of Brand is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, enhancing, and maintaining the This individual ensures that the company’s brand identity, positioning, and messaging align with its goals, resonate with target audiences, and create a strong, unified presence across all touchpoints.
Location:
This position is hybrid (in-office and remote).
The in-office days are required in both our Denver + Boulder offices.
Compensation:
$175,000-$200,000 depending on experience.
401k, health benefits + paid time off are offered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee brand strategy.
- Define and execute a comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Establish brand guidelines to ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and visual identity.
- Ensure the brand is positioned effectively in the market to differentiate it from competitors.
- Develop and refine core brand messaging to resonate with target audiences.
- Lead and mentor team members responsible for branding, creative direction, communications, and content marketing.
- Lead marketing team performance.
- Foster collaboration across departments, ensuring alignment with brand strategy.
- Oversee all creative outputs, including visual design, advertising campaigns, and multimedia content.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director to maintain high standards in creative execution.
- Conduct or oversee market research to understand audience perceptions, preferences, and behaviors.
- Use insights to guide brand development and adaptation to market trends.
- Monitor and measure brand equity and reputation.
- Implement strategies to enhance brand awareness, loyalty, and trust.
- Partner with internal teams (e.g., marketing, sales, product development) to integrate the brand strategy into all initiatives.
- Act as a key spokesperson for the brand, representing it to external stakeholders, including media and partners.
- Define KPIs for brand performance, such as awareness, loyalty, and engagement.
- Regularly present brand performance insights and recommendations to the executive team.
- Develop and manage the branding budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Advocate for investments in brand-building initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in branding, marketing, or a related field, with a strong focus on strategic leadership.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with C-suite executives.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Expertise in long-term brand planning and execution.
- Ability to anticipate market trends and adapt the brand strategy accordingly.
- Experience in overseeing creative projects, campaigns, and design.
- Strong aesthetic sense and understanding of brand identity.
- Proficient in using data to measure brand performance and guide decisions.
- Knowledge of brand equity measurement tools.
- In-depth understanding of the industry and target audience.
- Familiarity with digital marketing and emerging branding trends.
Reporting Structure
- Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) or CEO (depending on the organization).
- Direct Reports: Typically manages senior roles such as Creative Director, Senior Brand Manager, and Director of Communications.
