LOCATION
Sioux City, Iowa; various locations across Iowa and Nebraska
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; 3 years of recruitment or HR experience; strong communication, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities; familiarity with employment laws and ATS software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop recruitment strategies, manage job sourcing and posting, screen applications, coordinate interviews, facilitate the offer process, maintain recruitment records, track metrics, and build external partnerships for candidate sourcing.

About Us
Founded in 1954, Sioux City Truck Sales, Inc. has grown from a small Diamond-T Truck dealership into the exclusive Midwest Peterbilt Group (MPG), a network of Peterbilt truck dealership across Iowa and Nebraska. With locations including Sioux City, Des Moines, Council Bluffs, Norfolk, Lincoln, and O'Neill, NE as well as parts stores and collision centers, we offer premium trucks, parts, and service. And, we provide educational opportunities through the Midwest Diesel Tech Academy (MDTA).
What You'll Do
As a Recruiter, you'll collaborate with hiring managers and department leaders to manage the talent acquisition process from start to finish. Responsibilities include:
Developing Recruitment Strategies
- Implement talent acquisition strategies aligned with business growth and workforce planning
- Collaborate with HR, hiring managers, and department leaders to meet company objectives
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and adjust policies as needed
Sourcing and Posting Jobs
- Create, submit, and post approved job openings on social media, job boards, and other platforms
- Source and contact potential candidates on job boards
- Collaborate with Marketing for MDTA student recruitment messaging and online postings
Application Screening and Interview Coordination
- Screen resumes and conduct phone interviews to assess candidate qualifications
- Coordinate interviews with candidates, HR, and hiring managers
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and manage pre-employment processes
Managing the Interview and Offer Process
- Facilitate communication between candidates and hiring managers throughout interviews
- Assist in job offers, including salary negotiations and presenting offer letters
- Apply problem-solving skills to resolve hiring process challenges
Tracking, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate records in the ATS and track key recruitment metrics
- Prepare recruitment reports for management and document relevant data
- Monitor market trends for salary expectations and candidate availability
Ongoing Communication and External Partnerships
- Regularly update hiring managers on recruitment progress and needs
- Attend job fairs and recruitment events to source diverse talent
- Build partnerships with high schools and external agencies to support MDTA programs
What We're Looking For
Education
- Associate's degree preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Experience
- 3 years of experience in recruitment or human resources preferred; knowledge of the trucking industry is a plus
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication with excellent negotiation abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ATS software
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities
- Familiarity with employment laws and recruiting platforms
Travel Requirements
- Frequent travel with occasional overnight stays to attend job fairs, recruitment events, and meetings with military organization and high school counselors
