Regional Retirement Consultant
LOCATION
Office or hybrid office/remote environment with occasional travel to assigned regions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a business field, FINRA Series 6 or 7 and Series 63, applicable state insurance licenses (obtained within 90 days), and one year of relevant financial services experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage RFP processes, analyze customer needs, profile client information, develop retirement plan pricing, engage in proactive advisor outreach, perform individual prospecting and sales, facilitate post-sale documentation, and manage post-sale service issues.

- Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and requests for information. Analyze customer product needs based upon advisor value proposition, plan sponsor requirements, and employee necessities.
- Profile and gather client and plan information to package specific Transamerica solutions, including multiple service models across all qualified plan types encompassing over 40 product platforms and thousands of investment options, to be presented to the plan sponsor, advisor, and TPA community.
- Develop Retirement plan pricing, with responsibility for investment research, fund mapping, service model selections, and underwriting.
- Engage in proactive advisor outreach, cultivation of advisor relationships and the facilitation of sales finals to plan sponsors. The RVP/Internal Wholesaler (IW) partnership will develop a network of advisors to develop sales opportunities and meet company objectives through territory sales.
- Perform individual prospecting and sales to advisors and plan sponsors of Transamerica’s Retirement Solutions in the sub $3M market.
- Handle post sale facilitation and coordination of sales contract documentation for plan submission and implementation. Work with advisors and plan sponsor to finalize product and service selections, sales contracts, and coordinate with the internal implementation team to provide a positive onboarding experience for the client. Serve as a point of contact to resolve issues and keep the advisor abreast on progress.
- Stay up to date on dynamic landscape of group retirement space including legislative changes, new competitor offerings, internal product changes, and changes to the way broker-dealer partners want to do business with Transamerica.
- Facilitate campaign marketing/advisor communications via outbound call activity to solicit interest in Transamerica Retirement products and services.
- Manage post sale service issues that arise and field service and product inquiries from clients; direct traffic to internal support units to solve issues, which includes frequent communication and setting expectations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience
- FINRA Series 6 or 7
- FINRA Series 63
- Applicable State Insurance licenses or obtain within 90 days of hire
- One year of relevant financial services experience such as internal sales experience, financial advisor, or similar work in the retail banking industry
- Excellent listening skills to assess customer needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking skills to analyze data and make well-reasoned decisions
- Proficiency using MS Office suite
- Experience with group retirement plans
- Sales or relationship management experience
- Industry designations (such as CRPS)
