Regional Sales Manager
LOCATION
Assigned territory with extensive day travel required
QUALIFICATIONS
2-3 years of industry experience in group health insurance sales, including 2 years in small group sales. Must possess an active California State - Health and Life Insurance License and have a college education preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote and sell Word and Brown General Agency’s products to brokers and small business owners, conduct presentations and seminars, develop sales techniques, assist brokers in creating presentations, and collaborate with inside sales team.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Regional Sales Manager will drive sales of group benefit products, build broker relationships, and enhance market distribution through effective presentations and teamwork.
($130,000 - $200,000 ; Posted salary based on experience including possible commissions based on annual sales)
Regional Sales Manager will promote the sale of all Word and Brown General Agency’s products as an outside sales representative. Products will include, small and large group benefit lines. Sales will be made to brokers in the assigned territory. This will be accomplished through presentations to brokers in the territory as well as presentations to key industry brokers and small business owners. Will also work with and develop relationships with Carrier partners to increase distribution of products assigned territory.
Regional Sales Manager will work with Director of Field Sales to develop key sales techniques to be used for both broker and client presentations. Will assist brokers with creatively designing presentations, which can be implemented when presenting to end user (business owner), ultimately increasing sales of Word and Brown General Agency’s products. Will also conduct seminars for various broker audiences. Will interface heavily with an inside sales representative to enhance a team sales effort. On-site or remote regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job. Performs other business tasks or functions as assigned. This position will require extensive day travel.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 2-3 years industry experience in group health insurance sales.
- Must have 2 years industry experience in small group sales.
- Know the small group market competition.
- Extremely self-disciplined, ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Success driven, ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Requires a professional demeanor.
- Ability to conduct one on one, face to face sales presentations as well as the
- Fluent in the English language.
- Working knowledge of carrier portfolio and related products and services.
- Computer literate and excellent telephone communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task under pressure.
- Adhere to all PHI (Protected Health Information) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines.
Educational Requirements:
College education preferred.
Must hold an active California State - Health and Life Insurance License
Physical Requirements:
Requires close vision and must have good hand to eye coordination. Must be able to see, hear and speak clearly. Must be able to use a computer keyboard. Some lifting may be required. Ability to spend extensive time in auto.
