Position Description

This sales position is responsible for driving sales and margin growth within the designated territory. Key job functions include managing existing contractor accounts; identifying and developing new revenue opportunities; and executing the segments sales and marketing initiatives. This position will consistently communicate with all segment customer sets including contractors, builders, designers, independent dealers and resellers and homeowners in order to develop relationships and meet sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and achieve the segments annual business plan goals and objectives
  • Call on local mason and hardscape contractors to promote our products, develop brand loyalty and increase sales.
  • Find and develop new customers and market opportunities for our residential masonry and hardscape products.
  • Assist Sales Managers with ongoing market and customer analysis in assigned territory.
  • Plans and organizes work, schedules sales calls and submits reports of sales activities.
  • Builds and maintains displays of Mutuals products at dealer locations and works closely with customer contacts in establishing and maintaining appropriate in-store inventory levels.
  • Conducts product demonstrations, trains customer sales personnel, and represents both Mutual and dealers at professional trade shows.
  • Cultivate and leverage area subcontractor relationships to help facilitate the development of relationships with existing and targeted builders and developers.
  • Work closely with branch sales personnel to ensure subcontractors are adequately serviced within the territory.
  • Research, pursue and close local building permit opportunities.
  • Consistently communicate with team members to share critical customer, project, and industry information.

Other Duties

  • Provide samples and literature to the designer community.
  • Assist Branch Manager with branch operations as needed.
  • Participate in customer or industry events on nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • A college degree is desired, but a combination of applicable work experience and some continuing education or industry training will be considered.
  • Direct sales experience in the building industry or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in all stages of the sales cycle.
  • Proven track record of nurturing and growing both existing and new accounts.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized, disciplined and self-sufficient.
  • Must be able to work independently, but still be a part of a high-functioning team.
  • Applicants must have a valid drivers license and an insurable driving record.
