Resource Development Associate

Bachelor's degree, 2-3 years of administrative and fundraising program support experience, experience with fundraising software (e.g., Salesforce), strong writing and editing skills, and ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Resource Development Associate will support all areas of fundraising and communications to achieve organizational goals, while managing donor relations and data management.
The Resource Development Associate is an integral part of the Resource Development team, contributing directly to the team’s success. This role is responsible for donation processing, data management, prospect research, acknowledgements, and donor communications. This is a full-time position that reports to the SVP, Resource Development and Strategic Partnerships and will also assist the team with donor management and cultivation, event planning and execution, grant writing, and fundraising campaigns. This role supports the department in all areas of fundraising, communications, and marketing to strategically meet and exceed organizational and departmental goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Support
- Provide general administrative support to the team, ensuring that team members have the information and resources needed to meet department goals.
- Assist in the coordination and logistics of stewarding and cultivation events.
- Create briefings for the development team in-conjunction with philanthropy officers in preparation for donor meetings, events, and fundraising activities.
- Provide administrative support to the development team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and handling correspondence.
- Maintain the development team database, Salesforce, and all other fundraising platforms, ensuring accurate and timely data entry, gift processing, and regular data maintenance, including removal of duplicate records, investigating outdated addresses, etc.
- Create reports from Salesforce for direct mailings, emails, and donor information for the team members as needed.
- Track campaign results and progress made toward annual fundraising goals.
- Maintain the data and backend coordination of monthly giving programs.
- Assist team members in the creation and dissemination of stakeholder materials.
- Assist in coordinating and maintaining third party events.
- Ensure that donors are appropriately acknowledged and kept informed about how their support is being used.
- Build long-term relationships with donors by maintaining regular communication and engagement.
- Be an ambassador of the organization, reflecting the values of teamwork, collaboration, inclusivity, and mutual respect.
- Provide support on other projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- At least two to three years of related administrative and fundraising program support experience at a fast-paced nonprofit organization.
- Experience with fundraising software and databases, such as Salesforce, Fundraise Up, MailChimp, or additional nonprofit fundraising software, etc.
- Understanding of fundraising principles and best practices. Knowledge of gift processing and moves management.
- Knowledge of or desire to learn fundraising and stewardship practices.
- Advanced in the functional use of Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and the capability to learn new software applications and technologies in database management.
- Strong attention to detail, data entry, and problem-solving skills.
- Technology savvy with strong working knowledge of Google Suite and cloud-based tools, databases, and systems.
- Must be a strong writer with excellent editing skills.
- Ability to execute project tasks and collaborate with a team to move projects forward.
- Personal initiative and drive to produce high-quality and timely deliverables.
- The ability to easily build and maintain relationships and the desire to work collaboratively, effectively, and respectfully with diverse audiences.
- Intrinsic motivation to support others.
- The ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships is essential to the success of this role.
- Ability to travel up to 20% annually.
Application Process
The salary range for this role is between $65,000 - $75,000 annually. Salary is commensurate with experience. NFHA offers:
