LOCATION
Defined geographic area with travel required (4-5 days/week to various restaurants)
QUALIFICATIONS
7-10 years of restaurant experience, 3-5 years in management (preferably multi-unit), financial planning proficiency, strong communication skills, and effective decision-making abilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and develop team members, evaluate restaurant operations, review guest feedback, ensure training initiatives, manage staffing, analyze business performance, negotiate vendor contracts, and oversee new restaurant openings/remodels.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Regional Director of Operations is accountable for the leadership and development of team to include team building, financial results, and performance aspects of all restaurant business in a defined geographic area. The RDO will report to an Operating Partner and have approximately 3-8 District Managers and 20-50 Restaurants in their reporting structure. The RDO will also ensure that all marketing initiatives are met, develop positive vendor relations and strategically plan for the needs and analysis of their geographic area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Evaluates each restaurant’s ability to meet our operating standards. Provides regular feedback and coaching on improvement; conducts periodic inspections of the restaurant.
- Visit Restaurants in person 4-5 days/week.
- Reviews guest comments and concerns with the appropriate District Manager; follows up to ensure they are handled in a timely and effective way.
- Ensures that all training initiatives for region are met by working through their team.
- Trains, coaches and provides regular performance feedback (positive and corrective) to motivate and improve the performance of all team members. Provides appropriate and effective counseling and/or discipline.
- Actively recruits new District Managers and DMITs; ensures team members are prepared for promotion. Matches the skills and abilities of management to the needs of the area to maximize results.
- Responsible for reviewing proper restaurant staffing while coaching/counseling needs within area.
- Analyzes business performance; initiates appropriate corrective actions when deviations occur from financial expectations.
- Maintains awareness of competitive marketing programs and apprises Partners of major influencing factors. Supports company-wide marketing programs; evaluates local restaurant marketing strategies developed by the Marketing Department.
- Ensures that business and personnel practices are within the law and consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Serves as a role model and sets a positive example for the entire team in all aspects of business and personnel management.
- Negotiates vendor contracts for the districts; follows company approval process for contracts. Monitors facility maintenance expenditures at both an R&M and capital level. Assists with the coordination of remodels and major repairs.
- Upholds company food safety, food handling and sanitation requirements, to ensure the health and safety of our Guests and employees.
- Oversee and coordinate new restaurant opening/remodels with proper department heads while maintaining timelines and open lines of communications.
- Promotes the building of sales within the restaurant’s local community.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours per day).
- Work around heat.
- Work around others in close quarters.
· Able to move throughout the restaurant and observe restaurant operational and employee work performance.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably.
- Work with various cleaning products.
- Perform job at continuous high pace, under pressure, while maintaining quality & speed standards.
- Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations and states as required.
- Ability to travel daily to Restaurants (4-5 days/week).
EXPERIENCE:
- 7-10 years previous restaurant experience required
- 3-5 years in management positions (preferably multi-unit restaurant experience including full-service, fast food or convenience).
- Financial planning aptitude including planning, budgeting, scheduling and P & L management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good listening skills.
- Effective decision-making skills
- Strong analytical skills
