Restaurant General Manager

Seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the team and manage daily operations of Saltbreaker, Alameda's gem for great food and cocktails. We’re honored to be voted Best Restaurant in Alameda!

Qualifications

• 3+ years of GM/AGM experience leading daily operations of an upscale casual establishment
• Demonstrated success in training and developing a high-performing team
• Strong sense of organization and attention to detail both on the floor and in administrative matters
• Outstanding leadership and communication skills
• Working knowledge of HR practices and labor laws
• Physical Requirements: Able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time; reach, bend, stoop

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-floor direction and leadership of staff
• Ensure all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service
• Fill in on the floor where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Achieve company objectives in service, quality, sanitation, and restaurant appearance.
• Achieve financial goals through active management of sales and operating expenses.
• Make personnel decisions in coordination with Human Resources.
• Perform administrative tasks, including payroll, reports, and staffing schedules in an organized and timely manner.
• Ensure that equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition.
• Control inventory by ensuring that all products are received in correct amounts and condition.
• Schedule labor as required by anticipating business activity and within labor cost objectives.
• Fully understand and comply with regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests.
• Plan and implement restaurant marketing, promotional activities, and social media presence.
