The Retail Manager will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive an exceptional experience, both in retail sales and custom processing. This office-based role is a blend of office management and retail store management, leading a small team and managing all aspects of customer interactions, vendor relationships, and inventory coordination.
Responsibilities
Customer Experience Management:
- Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, and social media, ensuring prompt and exceptional service.
- Oversee the accuracy of processing calendars and cut sheets, guiding customers through the process with clarity and enthusiasm.
- Foster strong relationships with customers, providing a warm and welcoming retail experience.
Vendor and Inventory Management:
- Negotiate pricing and maintain strong partnerships with vendors.
- Manage purchasing, marketing, and sales of all retail items, ensuring profitability and alignment with company goals.
- Collaborate with the processing team to maintain a consistent and well-stocked inventory of American- and Indiana-grown meats.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a small team to achieve operational and customer service excellence.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members are well-trained and supported in their roles.
Operational Duties:
- Oversee point-of-sale (POS) systems, customer data records, and inventory tracking software.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for retail operations.
- Assist in budgeting, financial reporting, and recordkeeping related to retail and processing operations.
Qualifications
- Customer Service Expertise: Proven ability to deliver outstanding service, preferably in a retail setting.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated success in direct and indirect leadership roles.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with MS Office, POS systems, CRM platforms, and QuickBooks (certification preferred).
- Meat Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with retail meat cuts and processing is highly desirable.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds consistently.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
