Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 3+ years accounting experience in the upstream oil and gas industry preferred, SAP experience (specifically PRA and JIB), strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and attention to detail.

The position is for a proactive and detail-oriented team contributor in the Revenue Accounting and Joint Interest Billing Department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in operational accounting tasks.

Position Summary:
A successful candidate for the position will be an organized, self-driven, proactive, and detail-oriented team contributor who will deliver quality, timely results. The position will assist the Revenue Accounting and Joint Interest Billing Department across multiple areas of activity and responsibility and play an important role in proactively ensuring the Company’s operational accounting requirements are completed with precision and accuracy. The role will help to identify process improvements and automations and participate in initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency of the Revenue & JIB Accounting team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process joint interest billing invoices for working interest owners (operated and non-operated) and related parties.
- Monitor, record, and reconcile entries primarily for non-operated revenue properties.
- Daily cash application of revenue & JIB cash receipts, including cash calls.
- Participate in the month-end close process and prepare journal entries as needed.
- Review and analyze accounts receivable and follow up with owners as needed.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of JIB and PRA related master data .
- Communicate and coordinate with Division Order, Marketing, Operations, and Corporate Accounting groups to ensure timely and accurate revenue & JIB entries.
- Assist in answering working interest owner questions timely and accurately.
- Prepare and record monthly accrual entries.
- Maintain and track operated well payouts.
- Perform assigned monthly account reconciliations.
- Assist with revenue distribution processes (payment variance reporting, withholding remittance, 1099s).
- Provide support and documentation to external audit partner during annual audit.
- Assist with tax and royalty reporting processes (including compliance audits).
- Assist with special projects and operational accounting research.
- Participate in and support the recent SAP S4 implementation and continuous process improvement.
Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or related field of study.
- 3+ years accounting experience in the upstream oil and gas industry preferred.
- SAP experience (specifically PRA and JIB) and familiarity with other oil and gas accounting software (e.g., AFE, OpenInvoice, Energy Link) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of state and federal compliance reporting requirements and procedures is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and able to multi-task.
- Strong proficiency using Microsoft Excel.
