The Sales Development Specialist is responsible for basic growth marketing activities, creating revenue opportunities, and driving impactful marketing strategies. More specifically, they will be responsible for growing and nurturing our top 100 prospects through the top of funnel by cold calling, creating opportunities, crafting compelling messages, developing tailored campaigns, and collaborating closely with the sales team to optimize account management and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Create sales opportunities inside Skillable’s top 100 prospect accounts by cold calling, building and maintaining strong relationships to foster loyalty and growth.
- Act as a trusted adviser by regularly engaging with accounts to understand their needs, preferences, and challenges.
- Develop personalized strategies to identify contacts, set meetings and create sales accepted leads, upsell, or cross-sell opportunities.
- Design and execute data-driven marketing campaigns aimed at driving growth within key accounts in partnership with Demand team.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create tailored content, promotions and messaging for specific accounts.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of campaigns, using insights to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
- Partner with sales executives to develop and launch join account plans.
- Provide marketing insights and materials to support the sales team’s efforts in engaging and closing deals with top accounts.
- Act as a liaison between sales and marketing to ensure alignment on goals and strategies for the top 100 accounts.
- Leverage research, consumer insights, and market trends to inform product positioning, craft compelling messaging and marketing assets (emails, presentations and proposals) that resonate with external account stakeholders and internal Skillable partners.
- Develop account-specific marketing assets to support outreach and engagement efforts.
- Ensure all messaging aligns with the company’s brand voice and values.
- Utilize CRM and marketing automation tools to measure, analyze and track account engagement and campaign performance on revenue and pipeline opportunities.
- Provide regular reports on key account metrics, campaign success, and areas for improvement.
- Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Other strategic business initiatives or special cross-functional project involvement as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, related field or relevant professional experience
- 1+ years experience in a sales development or account management position.
- 1+ years experience in marketing, demand generation or a related role.
- Experience with CRM and marketing tools (i.e .Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo).
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with sales and marketing team.
- Proven success in developing and managing B2B marketing campaigns and driving account growth.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation and spelling as well as a diverse vocabulary.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, tone.
- Strong executive presence and demonstrated leadership skills, good judgment and the ability to effectively interface with employees and leaders at all levels.
- Demonstrated success learning quickly and understanding the business well enough to write credibly about it.
- Strong attention to deadlines in a fast-paced environment, producing accurate work in a timely manner.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively to various audiences/levels including leadership through various mediums
- Experience working with high-value accounts in a B2B environment preferred.
- Familiarity with growth marketing strategies and techniques preferred.
- A data-driven approach to decision-making and campaign optimization preferred.
Salary Range
The base salary for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually. This range does not include at plan potential for commissions and/or quarterly upsides. This role is not eligible for Skillable’s corporate bonus plan. Consistent with applicable laws, compensation will be determined based on the candidate's level, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience along with requirements for the position and annual financial plans.
Skillable is a distributed first team with employees working across the U.S., and we do not consider geography when determining compensation ranges.
Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Skillable reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time.

The job conditions for this position are in a remote home office setting, requiring a space that supports privacy and focus to attend to regular and frequent video and voice calls. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Periodic travel may be required equaling up to approximately 10% of the time.
