The Sales & Marketing Manager will execute marketing and sales strategies for Christie Lodge, focusing on revenue management, owner acquisition, and public relations while enhancing the resort's brand image.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of all marketing and resort sales efforts for Christie Lodge. The Sales & Marketing Manager must develop and maintain a sustainable source of resort rental through strategic efforts including effective revenue management, on-line marketing, reputation management, lead generation, outbound sales efforts and networking. They are responsible for consistently monitoring and evaluating the strategies and performance, making necessary adjustments to achieve goals set by the board of directors and guided by the executive teams priorities. The position assists the executive team in creating and executing a strategic owner sales plan to maximize owner acquisition and retention. The Sales & Marketing Manager also assumes the responsibilities of public relations and all content that is created for marketing purposes at the lodge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Strategy and Department Management Responsibilities
  • Overall brand management, development, maintenance, analysis, project timeline and vendor management of outdoor media purchasing and production, internal marketing, public relations, social media and online marketing efforts including but not limited to; website development/content maintenance, paid media programs, pay per click, (PPC), search engine optimization (SEO), web campaign design.
  • Oversee development of objectives, policies and procedures for marketing and selling the associations owned inventory.
  • Promote and grow the public image in the region and industry of value location that encourages ownership.
  • Sales Strategy and Responsibilities
  • Development and implementation of company sales plans to meet or exceed the rental budget. Work in conjunction with the maintenance and implementation of ongoing promotions.
  • Develop and manage sales and marketing budget and participate in the quarterly reporting process. Analyze the profitability of business source/segment against budget and objectives. Provide periodic revenue updates and forecasts as needed, review budget on a monthly basis and provide quarterly and year end presentations. Analyze, review and report on effectiveness of sales campaigns, methods and costs to maximize results.
  • Work with senior management to establish short and long-range objectives and goals for the continued revenue development of the company and implement operating procedures.
  • Use resources and data to develop strategic plans to sell segments. These plans will incorporate both customer expectations and the companys goals relative to revenue.
  • Monitor achievement objectives and sales goals for the Resort and takes appropriate corrective action when shortfalls are foreseen versus the strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with reservations and front desk regarding rates, information on extranets and reporting quarterly stats.
  • Responsibilities include the management of the group, catering and tour & travel sales efforts for the company.
  • Work with Department Managers to coordinate both company and group sales events to ensure success of events.
  • Marketing Strategy and Responsibilities
  • Manage reputation management channels by monitoring and responding to all external comments when the channel allows.
  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of all marketing ideas, campaigns and projects related to the Association. Supervise the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials. Supervise the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs.
  • Develop and manage marketing and vision plan for annual budget. Oversee the marketing budgets, strategies and implementation objectives for the property.
  • Oversee the on-line marketing efforts including supervision of Website design and maintenance and social media like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Yelp and others as they become relevant. Monitor effectiveness benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs.
  • Act as company liaison with industry travel partners and maintain all prioritized channels of internet and social media.
  • Assist in the ongoing maintenance and creation of content calendars, engagement programs for key social network pages, serving as the voice of the brand across all social media platforms. Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO), AdWords and integration of social media into desktop and mobile initiatives.
  • Lead all marketing-related initiatives for the resort, including creating plans to drive vacation guest visitation, lodging occupancy, overseeing the resort brand direction and communication and responsibility for delivering revenue targets for the resort.
  • Accountable for soliciting, selling, organizing and finalizing all arrangements for meetings, conventions and social functions.
  • Responsible for generating social and corporate rooms business, responsible for revenue and activity goals as well as creating and executing the Resort Revenue Management Strategy.
  • Direct and oversee the company marketing function to identify and develop new customers for products and services. Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing and internet marketing and potential new marketing opportunities. Direct and coordinate company sales, group sales, conference room activity, wholesale and travel agent initiatives.
  • Plan and coordinate events, and communications efforts, to include public relations and community outreach.
  • Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts and coordinate the management of all other accounts.
  • Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company. Serve on Christie Lodge sponsored event committees.
  • Manage contracts with Vilar, Bravo, and Birds of Prey, Manage and pursue long-term rental with other exchange companies such as Global Connections and Sundance.
  • Responsible for timeshare owner communications such as newsletter, billing inserts and other.
  • Other Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule and be available occasionally in the evening, weekends and/or remote as needed.
  • Requires an energetic, resourceful, detail-oriented, self-starter with strong organizational skills including follow-up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities, evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment with other management and employees of the lodge when servicing groups. Facilitate group meetings that motivate other management and employees of the lodge to produce quality materials or service within tight timeframes.
  • Work with the Christie Lodge timeshare sales team to provide great owner and guest experience.
    • Business planning skills and budget management skills. Financial analysis skills tying strategies, planned actions and results. Effectively control all marketing expenses to insure optimum operating profit.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common journals, business reports and financial reports.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from management members, guests, owners, employees or members of the business community.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate on all levels with management members, employees, guests and owners. Ability to effectively present information to top management and/or Board of Directors.
  • Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
  • Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Experience/Knowledge
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of Sales and Marketing experience in a resort or resort environment.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns and successful public relations efforts
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management.
  • Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations.
  • This position requires a medium to advanced level of Excel charting statistical functions, as well as Word and PowerPoint, and working knowledge of analytics and social listening platforms such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and others as they develop.
  • Navis Phone system and resort Property Management Systems and a verity of analytics (web based or otherwise).
