The Marketing & Sales Manager will execute marketing campaigns and drive revenue growth for the Grand River Center, contributing to memorable experiences while managing sales and customer relationships.

Position Summary:
The Marketing & Sales Manager will play a critical role in executing marketing campaigns, engaging with customers, and driving revenue growth through targeted sales initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the Grand River Center and plays a key role in delivering memorable experiences to our audiences.

This role will pay a yearly salary of $45,000 to $48,000.

This position will remain open until March 28, 2025.
About the Venue:
The Grand River Center is a full-service meeting and event facility located in the heart of downtown Dubuque, Iowa sitting next to the Mississippi River. Newly renovated in 2020, featuring over 40,000+ square feet of meeting and exhibition space for events up to 2,000.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans for the Grand River Center, collaborating with the Director of Sales & Marketing and internal stakeholders to align strategies with business objectives and revenue goals.
  • Execute marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital marketing, social media, email marketing, traditional advertising, and grassroots promotions, to drive sales and event attendance for a diverse range of events.
  • Manage the sales process for the Grand River Center’s facility rentals, including prospecting, lead generation, customer acquisition, and conversion.
  • Collaborate with venue management, event clients, and external partners to identify sales opportunities, develop promotional offers, and implement sales strategies to maximize sales and revenue opportunities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and guests.
  • Utilize venue management systems and sales analytics tools to track leads, monitor sales pipeline, and analyze sales performance data, providing regular reports and insights to inform decision-making and optimize sales strategies.
  • Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in managing marketing budgets, tracking expenses, and evaluating ROI for marketing and sales initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with financial objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation, differentiation, and revenue growth in the entertainment and events industry.
  • Collaborate with the team to create compelling content, promotional materials, and sales collateral to support marketing and sales efforts and enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Represent the Grand River Center at industry events, networking functions, and community engagements to build relationships with potential clients, sponsors, and partners and promote the venues as premier destinations for events.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or better from an accredited college or university with major coursework in marketing, public relations, business administration or other related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience in sales and/or marketing required, preferably with a sports facility, convention center, performing arts facility or other public assembly facility
  • Knowledge of marketing and advertising/sponsorship program development
  • Knowledge of Public Relations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, graphic design, PowerPoint and Internet software
  • Proficiency with publishing software such as Microsoft Publisher, Illustrator, Canva and Adobe Photoshop
  • Basic computer proficiency: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to project a professional manner and appearance, and communicate effectively with clients, senior management, staff and the general public
  • Digital expertise with various digital channels including website optimization, social media, and data acquisition.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc
