Job Overview:

We are seeking a data-driven and detail-oriented Sales Analyst to support the Amazon account for our growing business. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing sales data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights that will help drive sales growth and profitability on Amazon. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and supply chain, to optimize product listings, monitor account performance, and contribute to strategy development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Amazon Vendor Central, experience in e-commerce analytics, and a passion for driving results through data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Data Analysis:
    • Analyze Amazon sales data to track product performance, sales trends, and account KPIs, including revenue, unit sales, profitability, and market share.
    • Develop and manage sales forecasts to support inventory and promotional planning for Amazon, integrating insights into overall strategy
    • Collaborate with multi-functional teams on the strategy, development, and optimization of sales and marketing initiatives for Amazon.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    • Create and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports for internal teams and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics such as conversion rates, sales velocity, and customer engagement.
    • Evaluate the performance of Amazon advertising campaigns (ACOS, ROAS) and provide actionable insights to drive sales growth.
    • Analyze customer reviews and feedback on Amazon to identify product improvement opportunities and collaborate with relevant teams to address performance concerns.
  • Inventory Management & Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with the supply chain team to forecast inventory needs based on sales trends, seasonal demand, and promotional activity.
    • Track stock levels, monitor inventory health on Amazon, and alert the team to potential stock-out risks or overstock situations.
    • Provide forecasting analysis for future sales performance and promotions, incorporating historical data and market trends.
  • Amazon Account Optimization:
    • Manage and maintain Amazon catalog data, ensuring accuracy in product listings and compliance with Amazon's guidelines.
    • Work closely with marketing and product teams to optimize product listings, including title, description, bullet points, keywords, and images.
    • Monitor account health metrics such as chargebacks, returns, and customer feedback, and work to resolve any issues that impact account performance.
    • Serve as a point of contact for Amazon account support issues, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining a high level of account health
  • Promotional & Pricing Analysis:
    • Evaluate the performance of promotions, Lightning Deals, and special pricing campaigns, analyzing their impact on sales and profit margins.
    • Support the development and execution of promotional activities and Amazon events, such as Prime Day and Black Friday, and assess their impact on sales and profitability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to provide data-driven insights that support product launches, pricing strategies, and promotional planning.
    • Work with external advertising agencies and internal teams to provide analysis and recommendations to optimize Amazon advertising and promotional activities.
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
    • Conduct market research on Amazon to identify emerging trends, category growth opportunities, and potential new product ideas.
    • Perform competitive analysis, benchmarking product performance against competitors, and offering strategic recommendations based on data insights.
    • Prepare detailed analysis of product-level performance and suggest improvements to increase market share and profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Sales Analyst or similar role, ideally in e-commerce or Amazon sales.
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Seller Central or Vendor Central platforms.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or other BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with e-commerce analytics tools such as Helium 10, Jungle Scout, or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights to cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to think analytically and creatively with a proven track record of using insights to drive performance.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability to learn new technologies.
  • Understanding of digital marketing strategies, specifically for e-commerce platforms like Amazon.

Th e pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment and is expected to be between $140,000-160,000/ year, plus equity. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including location, role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus, equity, and a full range of benefits.
