Universal Music Group seeks a senior analyst to guide paid media analytics, providing insights to optimize marketing strategies and performance across various advertising platforms.

How we LEAD:
Universal Music Group is looking for a senior analyst to lead the paid media analytics team. Responsible for in-depth analysis of paid media campaigns and performance to understand the impact of campaigns on our business objectives inclusive of streaming, direct to consumer sales and audience growth.
This position requires close collaboration with business stakeholders including media planners, media buyers, marketing leads and data engineers in order to provide meaningful insights that will guide the company’s advertising strategy.
The ideal candidate has experience at a media agency or on an in-house buying team.
How you’ll CREATE:
  • Read and ingest data from multiple advertising platforms including social platforms (tiktok, meta, snap), google ads and programmatic.
  • Manipulate data into sleek, clean datasets in order to generate reports and dashboards with these datasets as defined by business stakeholders.
  • Be a primary partner for awareness and acquisition marketing stakeholders, focused on reporting, optimizing digital and linear marketing channel performance (across social, display, search, audio, video, and affiliate channels), and marketing budget optimization
  • Analyze marketing performance data across channels, tactics, partners, and individual ad networks to identify patterns, uncover opportunities, and optimize budget/drive marketing spend efficiencies through the funnel
  • Develop test and learn strategies related to targeting, creative, and other variables to improve end-to-end conversion throughout the funnel. Support data tracking integrations both internally and with third parties to ensure global best practices are deployed
  • Be an approachable team member who enhances the data culture within Universal Music. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to co-design and communicate a strategic roadmap and backlog for marketing data analytics. Be a data ambassador to cross-functional teams, coaching best practices in the use of reporting tools, data enrichment, and governance
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Interpret and present data to both technical and non-technical audiences
Bring your VIBE:
  • Strong ability to manipulate large datasets to serve an end goal is a must.
  • Demonstrable ability to write complex queries with SQL/Hive.
  • Experience with GCP BigQuery, DOMO, and/or a Business Intelligence tool like Datorama/Salesforce, Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Experience with Shopify
  • Previous experience in an analytics-based role within a tech-based or media company preferred
  • Experience of working with digital advertising platform data and ad tracking technology including Meta (Facebook) and Google preferred.
  • Educational Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of professional experience
