LOCATION
Hybrid remote in San Marcos, TX; travel to properties in Arlington and San Marcos required at least once a month.

Part-time asset manager position responsible for optimizing financial performance and managing multi-family properties in Texas, with a starting salary of $85,000 per year and a flexible work schedule.
Opportunity
- DETAILS ON WORK LOCATION. This is currently a part-time position estimated at approximately 20 hours per week to asset manage two multi-family properties based in Texas (one 616 unit complex in Arlington and one 267 unit complex in San Marcos) for a company based in California that is fully remote. Indeed requires a specific address so the one used for the job posting is the San Marcos location. You would be working remotely from your own home office or workspace most of the time, but need to travel to the properties on an as needed basis (at least once a month to start), so there is a strong preference for candidates located in Texas.
- We are a fast-growing Private Equity real estate company based in the San Francisco Bay area. As Multi Family Real Estate Asset Manager, you will have significant responsibilities including: collaborating with asset acquisition team on due diligence and closings, supervising third party property managers, optimizing the financial performance of multi family assets across our portfolio, managing architects and general contractors on multimillion dollar construction projects, driving technology innovation to bring about energy and cost efficiency in our assets.
- Flexible schedule except for 2-4 one-hour meetings per week typically scheduled within a 9-5/M-F work week, but occasionally on evenings and weekends.
- Starting salary of $85,000 per year for this current part-time position.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Marketing, or Real Estate is required, MBA is a plus.
- 8+ year of experience in managing multi-family real estate. Experience in high-unit Texas multi-family highly desirable. Experience in commercial real estate a plus.
- Experience managing multimillion dollar construction projects, including administration of commercial tenant improvement packages.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with property managers, vendors, tenants, investors, and general partners.
- Experience in budgeting and drive to deliver asset performance that meets targets.
- Technology savviness to drive cost-effective high-tech solutions to improve the operation of our assets.
- Entrepreneurial mentality in regards to third-party contract negotiations and lease negotiations is essential; must be comfortable making decisions with limited data.
- Self-starter sprit is critical. You will work remotely with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Everyday knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite is required.
Key Job Functions
- Manage third-party property managers in the day-to-day operations of our assets, leasing, capital and tenant improvements, financial reporting.
- Oversee multimillion dollar tenant improvements project, on budget and on schedule. Collaborate with architects, general contractors, leasing agents, tenants.
- Create operating budgets, and drive to deliver financial performance that meets or exceeds targets.
- Work with vendors and property managers to evaluate and deploy high tech solutions that improve the operations of our assets.
- Prepare, review, and analyze asset financials
- Analyze and recommend capital projects to maximize asset performance.
- Conduct on site property visits (Arlington & San Marcos)
