University Advancement (UA) is seeking an experienced email marketing professional to join its Advancement Communications team as Senior Associate Director of Digital Strategy. The person in this role will play a pivotal role in engaging alumni, donors, and friends of the university through targeted email marketing campaigns, journeys, and automations that support fundraising efforts, event promotion, and alumni engagement initiatives. This individual will work closely with internal teams to develop and execute comprehensive email strategies using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.A deep understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other similar marketing automation platform (Marketo, Hubspot, Eloqua, Pardot, Adobe Experience Cloud etc.), strong technical aptitude, and a passion for marketing and data analytics are essential for success in this position. The senior assoc. director will stay current on industry trends, best practices, and Marketing Cloud’s latest enhancements and changes to help meet the fundraising and engagement goals of University Advancement.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Designs, schedules, and manages email marketing campaigns for alumni engagement, annual giving, and fundraising initiatives.
- Maintains and manages Salesforce data extensions. Segments email audiences based on key attributes such as engagement levels, giving history, and event participation. Analyzes alumni and donor behavior for optimized email targeting. Closely collaborates with business systems and applications to ensure seamless integration of data and work closely with the Data Services team to ensure data integrity, quality, and accuracy. Troubleshoots error reports and failed sends as necessary.
- Leverages SFMC’s analytical features to monitor campaign performance and provide actionable insights for the digital strategy team. Generates regular reports on email performance and makes data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Serves as subject matter expert for Salesforce Marketing Cloud and provides training and support to the digital marketing team.
- Educates other University Advancement users on best practices; conducts workshops; and offer guidance on campaign setup and execution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

$75,200.00 - $128,800.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
