The Business Cards and Payments (BC&P) Marketing and Field Strategy team is on a mission to transform marketing and become a best-in-class marketing organization through our customer-first, personalized marketing approach. We are focused on creating seamless experiences for each customer at a 1:1 level across channels. This Senior Associate role is accountable for building our marketing strategy and supporting campaign execution for some of our key customer marketing initiatives, all powered by our enhanced technology, real-time data and advanced analytic models. The role will allow you to flex muscles in emerging lifecycle marketing strategies, new and innovative marketing technologies, and marketing across channels. Successful Sr. Marketing Associates are able to tie together key marketing and business results, work across multiple marketing channels, build powerful relationships, and storytell for business impact, and most importantly, they have the desire to change how we “do marketing” at Capital One.
As Senior Associate, Referrals Marketing you will join the Customer Marketing team to lead the strategy and execution of the Referrals Marketing channel. This work allows you to both grow as a customer marketing specialist and an acquisitions specialist in the B2B space.
We are looking for an innovative and seasoned associate who is well versed in owning multiple channels, including Email and App, and is familiar with building marketing strategies to take our channels to the next level. This marketer will have the opportunity to work with our cutting edge marketing technology, using AI to maximize the impact of our current campaigns and truly dive into what it means to be a modern marketer. The Referrals channel is uniquely positioned to grow the percentage of high value NABs, a key focus area for BC&P.

Execution expertise: Thrives working within multiple channels and platforms, including email and app. Potential to expand our placements to other channels such as paid media.
Initiative and ownership: ability to coordinate efforts across diverse functional groups balancing both short term and long term goals. Ability to self-direct and task switch between strategic and tactical initiatives regularly.
Embodiment of the “Modern Marketer”: We are looking for a data-driven marketer that is keen on expanding their knowledge and continuing to grow Referrals as the landscape and technology changes.
Strong organizational skills: Referrals is a complex channel that requires attention to detail and can operate effectively within a fluid environment.
Team player mentality: Puts others first and drives collaboration. Must be able to work seamlessly with a diverse group of teammates across multiple teams.
Creative thinking: our team values creative thinking and problem solving. We are looking for an associate that “thinks outside the box” and can bring those ideas to life while staying grounded in the overall channel goals.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills: in order to gain buy-in with more senior leaders on the team and navigate projects with multiple stakeholders.
What You’ll Own/Key Responsibilities
Developing an insights-driven strategy of the Referrals channel that is grounded in marketing performance and insights
Oversee multiple marketing projects at once from brief to launch, ensuring marketing is on-brand, high quality, and aligned to our strategic intent. Drives intent forward to ensure our intent is delivered on schedule.
Assess performance results of marketing campaigns, and turn insights into actionable marketing plans.
Collaborate with multiple partner teams and navigate/negotiate through a complex organization.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 2 years of experience in marketing
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
3+ years of experience in a Marketing role
2+ years of experience leading horizontal projects in a large, complex and in matrixed organization
