Seeking an experienced copywriter to create compelling travel and tourism advertising concepts while collaborating closely with creative teams to ensure brand consistency and engagement across multiple channels.

About You

You are an experienced copywriter, curious and capable of taking insightful brand strategies and turning them into compelling campaign concepts. The idea of working exclusively in travel and tourism excites you, and you're eager to collaborate with others to help bring the Madden team to new levels of productivity. Your agency background gives you a great understanding of how agencies are supposed to work.

You understand the difference between copy and content, and you can bring both as the situation and opportunity dictate. You're a solid researcher, have great attention to detail, can write across a variety of channels and platforms, and can write in a range of voices to authentically represent different destination brands. In addition, you know how to communicate well with your teammates and clients to build positive relationships and get the job done efficiently and effectively.

About the Job

You'll be responsible for bringing destination brands to life via advertising concepts, and then guide the ideas into other platforms. You'll partner with art directors/designers to tell compelling and unique brand stories, and you'll collaborate with other agency teams during production. In this role, you'll ensure all content is on-brand and consistent in terms of style, quality, voice/tone and is optimized for search and user experience across distribution channels.

On a nitty-gritty level, we are looking for the following:

  • You have creative agency experience working in campaign concepting, content production, and short/long-form copywriting
  • Skilled in research, understand how to decipher, consolidate and simplify information to make it easily digestible for target audiences
  • Experienced in interpreting brand strategies into thoughtful, clever, compelling, original copy
  • Experienced in content development and proficient in writing, editing, proofreading, and project management across multiple content channels including web, print, social and publishing
  • Able to lead multiple projects from concept to completion, determining and navigating necessary steps to succeed
  • Capable of writing in various styles to meet differentiating needs, ensuring all content is on-brand and consistent in terms of style, quality, and voice
  • Excels in client communication and presentation skills.
  • Collaborate with a team of account managers and creative staff, from concept development to delivery of final product
  • Communicate, collaborate, and advise clients on content direction and strategic publishing.
  • Quick thinker, fast-paced worker
  • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback, responding thoughtfully to ensure concepts are protected
  • There may be some travel required for this role; approximately once a quarter.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Four or more years of professional copywriting experience, with solid portfolio of work
  • Exceptional writing and research skills
  • Ability to work independently or with a team to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline
  • Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides
  • Experience with content management systems
  • Keen eye for detail and appreciation of great design

In addition to these competencies, preferred experience with InDesign, WordPress, marketing or agency work, or writing complex documents like proposals is appreciated.
