Job Summary

The Sr Director Commercial Marketing, North America will be a dynamic, results-oriented leader that reports to the Chief Marketing Officer North America and oversees the successful development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with our business goals to drive organic growth, increase brand equity and expand market share for our diverse, $2.2B business services segment, including Pest, Hygiene, Wellness & Environment. . These services go-to-market in both the US and Canada under multiple brands, including Terminix, Rentokil, Ambius, Target, Steritech, VDCI and SOLitude, while serving national, regional and local customer segments across varied industry verticals.

The Sr Director Commercial Marketing will be responsible to develop, nurture and lead a diverse team of marketing professionals, including direct responsibility for leaders in Commercial customer acquisition, CX and sales enablement. In addition, Leader Commercial Marketing will work closely with the executive team from each brand, including President and leaders across functions from sales and ops to CX and finance, to ensure alignment to and delivery of overall business growth plans. Planning and execution of plans will require close collaboration with leaders from multiple Centers of Excellence, including Performance Marketing, Insights & Analytics, Brand & Creative, etc.

The Leader Commercial Marketing is responsible for driving up to organic growth in line with the industry annually through:

1) Marketing Strategy for each business, including brand leadership, segmentation, winning propositions, effective targeting and demand gen, solution penetration, pricing growth and relationship management to ensure customer retention. That includes a strong understanding of market and industry trends, insights and competitive landscape.

2) Annual Planning that is aligned to the overall business plan and built to deliver organic growth across a multi-brand pest portfolio as well as our other Business Services brands. That includes growth across key verticals and with SMB, Regional and National Accounts. Plan will have clear actions, KPIs and ownership to ensure team can deliver to company expectations.

3) In-Year Execution, including delivery to plan as presented, measuring KPIs to leverage and/or pivot based on need and opportunity, and ongoing alignment with Sales, Ops and CX leaders to ensure resource optimization in achieving expected growth and maximize ROI. To achieve targeted organic growth, must deliver 8-10% YoY MQL growth, 6-8% pricing pass-through, 1.5-1.7 solutions per customer and 86-88% retention rate.

4) Lead a High Performing Team that is diverse, engaged, collaborative, and accountable to managing their function and/or brand to deliver to their stated plan within the resources allotted. The Commercial Marketing Team will be expected to understand and serve internal and external customers, while operating within the company mission and values. The Sr Director Commercial Marketing, North America should be a strong leader capable of delegating, a strategic thinker, and an effective communicator in order to meet aggressive growth goals for our business services brands. A self-sufficient individual comfortable working in a complex, evolving environment supporting unique plans for multiple brands and services across multiple verticals, customer segments and industries. Exceptional resource management, colleague development, organizational skills and leadership presence are a must.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the VP, Performance & Digital Marketing, and Insights Leader, along with the VP of Sales Operations, establish a comprehensive lead generation, management, and tracking process to accurately show ROI on marketing investment across all Commercial brands and LOBs
  • Elevation of the lead generation process includes: ensuring a high quality and quantity of leads, establishing a follow-up process for turning cold leads into hot ones, for converting marketing leads into sales leads, innovative ways to capture leads, and leveraging our existing database more effectively. Additionally, ensuring all event opportunities are fully leveraged to capture leads, generate awareness, and manage our brands. Establishing true ROI for events is necessary.

  • Execute successful marketing campaigns taking advantage of modern marketing technology and approach – AI, automation, ABM, retargeting – to establish brand leadership, build awareness, generate leads, upsell existing customers and support retention goals.
  • Management of marketers, all of whom work remotely, so strong, effective and engaging leadership is critical.
  • Budget management – planning, creating, and consistently tracking. Leveraging the Procurement team is a requirement.
  • Evaluate current marketing structure and operations and take necessary steps to improve collaboration, workflows and tracking. Documenting best practices and establishing a relevant, ongoing training and development approach.
  • Take a leadership role within the department, to ensure the success of each team member and the broader success of the department in an effort to continue to elevate Marketing’s profile.
  • Work from a strategic point of view - The Sr Director Commercial Marketing will collaborate with other marketing leaders - the VP, Performance & Digital Marketing, of Sr. Director of Brand and Content, of PR, and Insights Leader, to create organic revenue growth through effective marketing initiatives – AI, content marketing, marketing automation, and ABM initiatives with relevant, effective messaging.
  • Will partner with other cross-functional leaders – VP, Sales, VP, Operations, Leader of CX, VP, Sales Operations - to ensure alignment in planning and execution in order to optimize organic growth potential and meet plan. Will also need to have strong leadership presence in ELT meeting when representing marketing and/or presenting plans and results.
  • Leverage our database and library of assets - The Sr Director Commercial Marketing will work with their team of marketing professionals to establish consistent and measurable initiatives to generate leads, create awareness, and build our brands through email marketing, webinars, collateral, direct mail, social networking, SEO, internal assets, thought leadership, tradeshows and events, customer programs, and more.
  • Will own proposition across all brands, verticals and LOBs, ensuring a consistent approach that engages and inspires the customer. Specifically, this leader will be responsible for working with their team as well as sales, ops and CX leaders to create messaging that is dynamic, relevant, flexible, and effective in order to sell to new customers and upsell into existing customers.
  • Analyzing insights, metrics and results is a critical element of the Sr Director, Commercial Marketing’s responsibility. Improving strategic decisions, recommending changes, being innovative all stem from knowledge gained in analyzing market dynamics and efforts of the team.

CANDIDATE SUMMARY

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 10 - 15 plus years experience as an dynamic senior level leader with at least 5 years in a Senior Director or VP role, working with diverse teams in a field based business on a national scale.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area, BA or BS; Master’s degree a plus.
  • Strong presentation skills are required.
  • Deep knowledge of lead creation, development, nurturing, and management.
  • Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a heightened sense of attention to detail are key.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow for healthy internal and external relationships are a must.
  • Experience with the Google Platform is a plus.
  • Experience with aspects of both B2B and B2C, including marketing, sales, service, customer relationship management (CRM), product, pricing and superior data analytics capability.
