Department Summary
The MITRE Labs Sector Office is looking for a customer focused, detail-oriented communicator with strong organizational skills, professional poise, and engagement coordination experience.
Key responsibilities include tracking engagement activities, ensuring coordination between key contributors to execute internal and external events, developing outreach materials, following-up and tracking actions to close, and working across MITRE business units to coordinate cross-organizational engagements.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to develop, execute, and track internal and external engagement plans
- Coordinate and assist in the execution of internal engagement activities, in coordination with MITRE Enterprise Communications office, integrating input from stakeholders from across MITRE.
- Manage the development of collateral to support strategic initiatives, to include materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion and impact of short- and long-term initiatives
- Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS in Communications, Public Policy, Business/Marketing, National Security, or related technical discipline.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external partners.
- Ability to learn new skills quickly, be flexible to changes, solve problems effectively, and handle multiple priorities.
- A high level of diplomacy, tact, and judgment as well as an upbeat and positive attitude.
- Proven high quality written and verbal communication skills, to include content generation and proofing skills.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and take direction from others with limited supervision.
- Ability to solve problems independently, ask for help when needed and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Superior organizational skills with a high quality of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office environment with an emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint background or ability to learn.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Communications, Public Policy, Business/Marketing, National Security, or related technical discipline.
- Experience in engagement coordination or event management within a large organization.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful outreach and engagement plans.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies to track and analyze project performance.
- Experience in creating and managing strategic communication materials for varied audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and poise in high-pressure situations.
- Experience in data analysis or metrics tracking to evaluate the impact of engagement initiatives.
- Knowledge of MITRE's organizational structure and business units, or experience in a similar organization.
