SHORT DESCRIPTION

Responsible for developing audience-centric marketing strategies to grow Universal Orlando Resort's business and engage new audiences through special market programs.

Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. There are also roles that require being on-site full time. Limited remote opportunities may be available within specific departments. You’ll learn more about this during the recruitment process.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for exploration and development of new and evolving audience-centric special market programs to enable the UOR destination team to reach and engage new audiences and grow the business. Leverages research, learnings and data and conducts insightful analysis to influence UDX leadership to pursue new opportunities for growth and market reach. Leads strategic development and management of Special Market programs and ensures alignment across all niche marketing efforts across the division. Serves as trusted partner and key liaison between the Brand & Marketing Strategy team and cross-divisional UOR and UDX resources.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather and analyze information to identify new markets and audiences, evaluate potential demand for UOR and UDX experiences, and define overall market opportunity.
  • Oversee critical connections between experience development, pricing, commerce, and communications workstreams, ensuring alignment and consistency of special market programs across all teams, channels and touchpoints.
  • Oversee strategic development and execution of special markets programs and ensure alignment of all niche marketing efforts across UDX
  • Champion voice of the consumer to ensure the understanding of guest needs and behaviors is at the center of special market strategies and programs.
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports and team members in day-to-day management of work, building a high-performing team to achieve and exceed goals and objectives.
  • Support development of new market opportunities across UDX as needed.
  • Oversee special market program budgets and resource allocation to ensure highest and best use of resources in support of destination objectives.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Business, Marketing, or Communications.
  • MBA preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of progressive brand management and/or marketing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Proven team/consensus building skills
  • Travel & Resort Industry, Entertainment and/or Theme Park experience
  • Financial Pro-forma, forecasting, and business case development
  • Management/Supervisory experience with proven team/consensus building skills
  • Cross-functional experience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex and highly collaborative environment
  • Strong understanding of consumer and brand research, including segmentation and data-driven audience development
  • Demonstrated translation of data into implication and implication into strategy
  • Record of exceeding targets/objectives.
  • Must be energetic self-motivated, a quick learner and demonstrate a strong personal desire to achieve results
