SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Senior Manager, Playground Insights will lead research and insights initiatives, driving strategy alignment across key audiences for Red Bull's marketing and media activities.
Company Description
The Senior Manager, Playground Insights will be a vertical lead within Consumer Insights, responsible for owning the team's Playground Insights pillar. It is a true dot-connecting role focused on driving insights & strategy alignment across Red Bull's key audiences—referred to internally as "playgrounds". As Red Bull's audiences/playgrounds span many parts of the marketing mix, the role requires deep expertise in media insights along with insights from sports marketing and culture marketing (music and dance). Day to day the role is responsible for the development, execution, analysis and socialization of custom playground insights that drive planning, optimization and measurement for marketing and media activities. This is not a reporting-centric or traditional media analytics position; instead, it's a forward-looking role that is heavy on strategy, consultation and parlaying insights into execution.
Job Description
CUSTOM RESEARCH MANAGEMENT & ANALYSIS
Manage large-scale custom research projects (quantitative and qualitative), including start-to-finish management of projects from RFP development, research design, vendor management, and analysis of results to report creation, presentation, and socialization.
Be an expert in the analysis and visualization of data, capable of transforming complex information into digestible and actionable insights.
Lead annual playground research initiatives and identify/manage new opportunities for custom research across Red Bull Media Network, sports marketing, and culture marketing.
Develop Red Bull's research capabilities in content/creative testing, then evolve the approach to deliver maximum impact for media and marketing teams.
Keep up with the evolving media insights space and experiment with new approaches/methodologies that uncover audience insights in completely unique ways.
DATA SYNTHESIS
Manage syndicated vendors (e.g., Statista) and work comfortably across many forms of data—custom and syndicated—to synthesize data into compelling stories.
Integrate learnings from other parts of the Consumer Insights team (e.g., brand tracking, beverage/consumption occasion insights) to spotlight holistic opportunities for the business.
INSIGHTS INFLUENCE & APPLICATION
Deliver insights in an elevated but clear, practical way that mobilizes many teams (e.g., sports, culture, advertising, media strategy, channel management) to think differently and focus on what drives growth/marketing outcomes.
Be a key dot connector between Brand Marketing and Red Bull Media Network, helping media teams understand our beverage business, objectives, and strategy and how media + beverage can come together in support of shared goals.
Cultivate relationships and buy-in from stakeholders across all Red Bull Marketing teams to ensure insights are translated into action.
Present to and collaborate with all levels of the organization, from junior-level specialists to department heads, that leads to insights-driven strategies and execution.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL INSIGHTS COLLABORATION
Partner closely with the Audience Insights team within Red Bull Media Network to develop unified insights POVs on user behavior and engagement that help optimize programming strategy, content performance, and creative development.
Collaborate with the Audience Insights team, along with the Data Science team, to elevate playground measurement efforts and extend Consumer Insights' custom research efforts into ongoing tracking.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience (client-side positions and CPG/lifestyle/sports/music and/dance brand experience a big plus)
Deep experience in designing and interpreting custom qualitative and quantitative research across multiple methodologies
Experience managing research agencies on the client side (or managing project teams within research agencies on the vendor side)
Experience with the current and trending digital media landscape and its consumers across a wide range of platforms and mediums
Hands-on experience with digital media analytics platforms and social tracking tools (e.g. Google Analytics, YouTube Analytics, Brandwatch, Sprinklr)
Expert in PowerPoint and Excel; experience with SPSS, Tableau or other data ingestion/visualization tools a huge plus
Proficiency in the art and science of insights—equally comfortable in the worlds of data analysis, creative storytelling and strategic consulting (formally and informally)
Additional Information
The base salary range for this position is $85,360 to $128,040 + cash incentives Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
