QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field plus 4 years of relevant experience; or 8 years of progressively responsible marketing experience without a degree. Strong knowledge in strategic planning, community outreach, and marketing communications, along with proficiency in Microsoft 365, Adobe Suite, and social media platforms.

The Senior Marketing Development Manager is responsible for developing innovative marketing partnerships to generate revenue for Metra, fostering relationships with various stakeholders and promoting ridership.
Job Description
The Senior Marketing Development Manager manages and develops innovative marketing partnerships that generate revenue for Metra. The manager uses their creativity at identifying partnership options, and their relationship-building and negotiating skills to create a mutually beneficial relationship. This role will report directly to the Director of Marketing.
The Marketing Department is responsible for marketing promotions and business development with internal and external stakeholders.
Metra is one of the largest and most complex commuter rail systems in North America, serving Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kane, and McHenry Counties. The agency is linking communities in Northeastern Illinois by providing safe, reliable, and efficient commuter service.
The final salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications. Those with 8 years or more of required experience can expect offers up to the midpoint of the salary range. Metra provides full pay ranges so candidates can consider their growth potential.

The primary duties include:
- Serve as liaison to external audiences including: trade organizations, the tourism industry, colleges and universities, cultural institutions, building owners and management associations, major corporations, government agencies, and others to develop and oversee marketing strategies that promote Metra ridership, transit benefits, and service options while generating additional non-fare revenue.
- Research, identify, and establish new partnerships with public and private sector agencies and manage marketing projects for programs and services that meet their clients' and employees' transportation needs, increase Metra ridership, and generate additional non-fare revenue.
- Monitor and analyze market conditions throughout the region to identify targeted outreach opportunities and initiatives.
- Lead marketing team including assigning, reviewing, supervising, and evaluating work; training and mentoring team members; and guiding and assisting on projects.
- Manage multiple projects from start to finish, determine objectives, themes, and distribution outlets; develop and manage key performance indicators; ensure projects adhere to established timelines and budgets; and oversee final production of deliverables.
- Approve time off, coordinate staff schedules, fill vacancies as necessary, and ensure compliance with departmental and company policies and objectives.
- Decide/implement staffing decisions, performance evaluations, and performance improvement, disciplinary, and/or termination procedures.
- Make recommendations regarding hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary and/or termination procedures. Promote safe work practices and maintain and foster a safe work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Job Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field plus four (4) years of relevant experience is required. Alternatively, candidates without a degree must have at least eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, content creation, branding, or communications.

- Brand, marketing and communications strategic planning and execution.
- Relationship and partnership building, and community outreach.
- Effective verbal and written marketing communications.
- Some knowledge of sales techniques is helpful.
- Considerable organization and analytical skills.
- Considerable presentation, verbal, and written communications skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Intermediate skill using a Microsoft 365, Canva, Adobe Suite required with website backend programs preferred.
- Skilled using a variety of social media platforms.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cooperatively with a various constituent.
- Must be willing to travel within Metra’s 6-county region.
- Must be available to work flexible hours in the early morning, late afternoon, evenings, or weekends.
