The Job Details are as follows:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Motion Graphics Designer to join our team. As a Senior Motion Graphics Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning motion graphics and special effects, supporting live events, remote and on-location recordings, audio recording and editing, setup and breakdown, archiving, photography, podcasting, and social content creation. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in contributing to OCLC’s media storytelling, process, and digital brand strategy, while actively participating in the planning and storyboarding of motion/video projects.

The Senior Motion Graphic Designer works with the content marketing team and internal customers to develop animations, effects, videos, and multimedia content in support of OCLC’s marketing programs. This includes managing activities to plan, produce, and implement animations and video products for online viewing and for use in digital marketing, including animation, video shooting, editing, and production. The Senior Motion Graphics Designer is also tasked with supporting the video team with ongoing media asset organization (back-up, archiving, clean-up, formatting, metadata application, etc.) for OCLC’s video and photo library for new and existing material.

The Senior Motion Graphic Designer thinks strategically and communicates design rationale effectively to colleagues, product teams, and management. You will have the experience and willingness to proactively lead the planning, design, and implementation of motion and video projects, balancing the needs of the end user with strategic marketing and sales objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Work with a wide range of media, special effects, graphic design, and animation software
  • Knowledge of layouts, animation fundamentals, special effects, storyboarding, storytelling, and typography
  • Contribute to the direction of and work within corporate branding guidelines
  • Think creatively and develop new concepts
  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
  • Amend final designs to gain full approval
  • Work as part of a team with copywriters, designers, and product managers
  • Work with internal teams to translate their communication intent into visual form
  • Lead the planning and implementation of design projects working with the Design Manager
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Marketing, film or broadcasting, communications, arts, science, fine art, or related discipline
  • 5+ years professional design experience, preferably with a marketing or creative agency
  • Extensive experience with Adobe (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat)
  • Demonstrable design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Possession of versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
  • Ability to multi-task, juggling a lot of projects at once while maintaining a good eye for details and still meet necessary deadlines
  • Design project management experience and organizational skills
  • Relevant marketing experience, with strong technical knowledge of website development and design
  • Strong problem-solving and creative-thinking skills
  • Ability to engage stakeholders at various levels and champion large projects
Desirable but not required
  • Experience with Rive, Lottie, and/or other interactive motion apps for mobile and websites
