Senior Paid Digital Media Strategist (PPC)
emagineHealth, the Digital-First Marketing and Communications Agency for Healthcare and Life Sciences, is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Senior Paid Digital Media Strategist with experience in managing and optimizing digital media campaigns for pharmaceutical & life science clients.
In this role, you will develop, execute, and analyze performance-driven media strategies across multiple channels, such as paid search, social, display, and programmatic platforms. Your efforts will support the client’s objectives, ensuring regulatory compliance while driving measurable outcomes.
This is a collaborative role for an individual with strong communication and account management skills. This role requires a passion for client interaction, as you will be hands-on in managing client relationships. The ability to explain complex solutions in a digestible way, while providing enough data and performance results to demonstrate the impact of your work, is key.
The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage budgets of $100,000+ per month and work with the Digital Marketing Services team in order to maximize search visibility, website traffic, conversions, and ultimate customer ROI. The role also requires the oversight and management of a few select client accounts to ensure peak performance for campaigns across multi-channels.

Key Responsibilities

Media Planning & Strategy
- Use data-driven insights to continually refine strategies and stay ahead of market trends in the pharmaceutical & life sciences space.
- Develop and implement comprehensive paid media strategies tailored to the pharmaceutical & life science industries, focusing on brand awareness, lead generation, and patient or healthcare professional (HCP) engagement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align campaign goals with client objectives and regulatory requirements

Campaign Management
- Launch, monitor, and optimize paid media campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and programmatic networks
- Ensure ad creatives, messaging, and landing pages are compliant with pharmaceutical advertising regulations (e.g., FDA, EMA)
- Managing budgets of over $100,000 per month across multiple channels
- Proactively recommend budget allocations across channels based on performance and client goals

Data-Driven Optimization
- Analyze campaign performance metrics (CTR, CPA, ROI, etc.) and provide actionable insights to enhance results
- Leverage A/B testing to refine targeting, ad creative, and bidding strategies

Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the client’s brand teams, creative agencies, and regulatory/compliance departments to ensure consistent and effective messaging
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on campaign performance and recommendations for improvement
- Foster strong communication between cross-functional teams to ensure paid media campaigns support broader business objectives
- Collaborate with creative, technical, and analytics teams to develop integrated media plans and ensure flawless execution

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Stay updated on industry trends, platform policies, and regulatory guidelines affecting pharmaceutical advertising
- Ensure all campaigns meet strict compliance standards, including the inclusion of ISI (Important Safety Information) when applicable

Reporting and Insights:
- Use platforms such as Google Data Studio/Looker to deliver actionable insights and performance reports
- Prepare detailed reports and dashboards showcasing campaign performance and key learnings
- Present findings to clients and suggest data-driven adjustments to enhance campaign efficacy
This role requires someone with both technical expertise in digital media and a deep understanding of the complexities of pharmaceutical advertising, ensuring campaigns are effective while adhering to strict industry standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing paid digital media campaigns, preferably within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated industries
- Demonstrated expertise with digital advertising platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram), and LinkedIn Ads
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to develop and execute data-driven paid media strategies
- Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines governing pharmaceutical advertising, including FDA regulations, Important Safety Information (ISI), and black box warnings
- Continuously looking to learn and adapt to industry best-practices
- Proactively provide data-driven insights and recommendations to refine and improve ongoing client strategies
- Team-oriented approach, with a strong ability to collaborate across departments
Preferred Experience
- Industry specific certifications
- Experience using Google Data Studio/Looker
- Familiarity with Google Tag Manager
- CRM exposure: HubSpot, Salesforce, or comparable
- Experience using software tools such as SpyFu or SEMrush
- International SEM campaign management
- Exposure to organic SEO best practices and how it relates to PPC campaigns
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing challenges and best practices
- Familiarity with ad compliance tools and platforms, such as Veeva, PharmaCompass, or similar.
- Experience working remotely
- Agency experience a plus
