The Senior Product Manager, AI Initiatives leads the development of AI and machine learning-powered products that drive key business objectives in the field of educational technology. This role bridges data analytics, curriculum, product development, marketing, and sales to create innovative learning solutions and is responsible for effective and efficient processes for the use of AI to meet market needs and differentiate our products.

Position Type : This is a regular , full-time position .

Compensation : Base pay is anticipated to be between $ 115,135 and $ 165,000 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

Location : In this US-based position your location will be remote from your home office .

Travel : You can also expect up to approximately 20 % travel, so be sure you have a valid driver's license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Envision Your Experience .

In this role you'll have the opportunity to:
  • Solve customer problems by developing AI-powered educational products, leveraging technologies such as large language models (e.g., GPT, Claude, Llama ) and multimodal models .
  • Gather and analyze user needs through various methods (interviews, analytics, stakeholder input) to inform product decisions, emphasizing empathy and user-centric thinking in the educational context.
  • Research industry trends and competitive landscapes to develop informed backlogs and roadmaps, with a focus on emerging AI technologies in education.
  • Build and communicate product vision and roadmap to diverse stakeholders, balancing multiple product needs and business units.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to plan and prioritize work using agile methodologies, with a focus on outcomes and business value.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams to develop and launch products, managing dependencies and leading communication with sales and marketing.
  • Engage with executive-level stakeholders and represent the team in company-wide planning, using strong communication skills to convey complex AI concepts clearly.

Share Your Expertise .

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:
  • Master's degree in education, Technology, Software Development, or related field, and 5+ years of product management experience, with a focus on AI and machine learning solutions in education or related fields; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience building products using AI including experience with recent advancements in Generative AI/LLMs (fine-tuning , retrieval augmented generation, and common prompt engineering techniques).
  • Experience building products powered by data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, generative AI, and emerging technologies, including design patterns for collecting human feedback.
  • Experience in defining AI-specific data strategies, including data collection, labeling, and synthetic data generation for machine learning models.
  • Expertise in defining success metrics and objective criteria, including model performance and educational outcomes.
  • Strong background in Agile methodologies, using tools like Jira and Confluence for project management and collaboration.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical knowledge with user empathy in educational technology products.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Passion for innovative AI applications in education and a desire to make a positive impact in K-12 learning.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for conferences and field team meetings.
