Seeking a Senior SEO Specialist to enhance the digital visibility of our eCommerce business through effective SEO strategies and data-driven insights.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior SEO Specialist with a strong background in both technical and content SEO, equipped to enhance the digital visibility and search engine performance of our eCommerce business.
The ideal candidate has agency or ecommerce experience and a proven track record of working in fast-paced environments. They will work under the Associate Director of Digital Marketing and collaborate closely on SEO strategy but will also be expected to derive insights independently, manage SEO tasks, and contribute meaningfully to reporting.
In this role, you'll be responsible for executing SEO initiatives across both content and technical focused projects, drawing insights from GA4, Looker Studio (Google Data Studio), tools like Ahrefs and SEMRush, and using tools like Excel and Google Sheets to support data-driven decision-making. We’re looking for someone who can identify opportunities and optimizations within handed-down projects, improving our overall SEO performance through thoughtful execution and insightful reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute both technical and content SEO strategies, ensuring on-page and off-page SEO best practices are followed.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director to implement SEO strategies that drive organic traffic and improve search rankings.
- Perform technical SEO audits, identifying and addressing issues such as crawl errors, mobile usability, and page speed improvements.
- Optimize site content, metadata, headers, and internal linking structure for SEO.
- Conduct thorough keyword research and competitor analysis to guide content strategies and optimizations.
- Use GA4 and Looker Studio to gather insights and performance data to support ongoing SEO efforts.
- Develop SEO reports, highlighting key insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Work closely with development teams to implement technical SEO enhancements, such as structured data, canonical tags, and XML sitemaps.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices.
- Analyze backlink profiles and support link-building efforts in coordination with the broader digital marketing team.
- Collaborate with content creators to ensure SEO best practices are embedded in all stages of content development.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in an SEO role, ideally within an agency or fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of content SEO and technical SEO principles.
- Proficiency in GA4, Looker Studio (Google Data Studio), Google Search Console, and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with common SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, or equivalent.
- Proven ability to derive insights from data and apply them to ongoing SEO efforts.
- General understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from an SEO perspective.
- Experience with eCommerce SEO and knowledge of SEO specific challenges a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights a must.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, content creators, and marketing specialists.
- Familiarity with CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Agency background with a strong understanding of how to manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and the unique SEO challenges they present.
- Experience in creating SEO reports that communicate performance, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Though this is an ecommerce company, we alos are looking for content skill sets in WordPress as well (content SEO)
- Experience in the sporting goods and sports shooting industry (or an interest in this industry - we are an ammunition vending company).

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Onboarding Process:
- Introduction to Company Strategy and Tools: Get introduced to the company’s overarching SEO strategies, tools, and analytics platforms (GA4, Looker Studio, etc.).
- Project Roadmap Overview: Review the SEO project roadmap and key deliverables to understand the scope of responsibilities and timeline expectations. This will include a focus on content SEO, technical SEO, and data analysis.
- Team Integration: Meet with key stakeholders, including the Associate Director of Digital Marketing, content creators, developers, and any cross-functional team members involved in the SEO process.
- Project Ownership from Day One: Begin active involvement in projects immediately, focusing on technical SEO, content audits, and optimizations. You'll gradually take over more responsibilities as you settle into the role, but project ownership begins early.
Feedback and Review Process:
Regular check-ins to review work, receive feedback, and adjust strategies or implementations as necessary. There will be structured feedback sessions after key milestones to ensure alignment with the overall SEO strategy.
