Your role within the team

The Content Manager will play a key role in nurturing a strong industry network, increasing brand and category awareness, and developing an enviable corporate image. You will lead the execution of innovative PR strategies, create breakthrough social content, and manage advertising and web content to drive brand recognition.

You’ll be responsible for engaging pet parents where they interact with our brand, collaborating with our agency partners to set the strategic vision for growing brand awareness, and fostering consumer engagement and retention.

The ideal candidate will be a subject-matter expert in social media marketing best practices, with a deep understanding of leveraging PR for brand building. You will also be skilled in creating and optimizing ad content, analyzing performance data, and turning results into actionable insights. Additionally, you should have a proven ability to build and convert digital audiences.

Experience with project management software, such as Monday.com, is required to ensure smooth execution and alignment across teams.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Execute and manage a comprehensive marketing communications plan across social media, PR, DTC, retail.com, and digital channels to drive brand and category awareness in North America, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Lead the strategic direction of monthly and quarterly social content calendars, including approval and oversight of execution.
  • Manage social media and influencer budgets, including activations, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Oversee influencer partnerships, giveaways, and campaigns to grow engagement and brand awareness.
  • Monitor and analyze social media and PR performance, providing insights and adjusting strategies for future initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and social media platform developments (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) to inform strategy and keep Zesty Paws relevant and growing.
  • Handle media inquiries, press releases, and content coordination for internal and leadership communications.
  • Maintain up-to-date press content on the company website and ensure press placements are amplified on social media.
  • Manage the creation, testing, and optimization of ad content across platforms (Meta, TikTok, retail.com).
  • Collaborate with the agency to curate influencer content and integrate it across owned properties.
  • Support the creation and execution of Go-To-Market (GTM) plans and reporting.
  • Ensure alignment between social media and brand content calendars for consistent messaging.
  • Make informed, timely decisions under pressure, adhering to company values.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of proven experience in Social Media & Public Relations management.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing and the ability to apply insights to optimize ad creatives.
  • Proven success in influencer marketing to drive brand and category growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to build engagement and grow social media followings.
  • Creative examples of leveraging PR to generate brand buzz and awareness.
  • Event planning and trade show experience is a plus.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage expectations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative team player who stays calm, composed, and kind under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
