Join Nebraska Wesleyan University's Enrollment Management & Marketing team as a Social Media Specialist to develop and execute strategies that support the university's goals through engaging content across various social media platforms.
Nebraska Wesleyan University seeks to hire a results-oriented and energetic professional to join our Enrollment Management & Marketing team. The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for strategic development and execution of social media strategies to support the university's goals.
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position which requires some evening and weekend work includes a comprehensive package including health, vision and dental insurance benefits, retirement benefits, a generous holiday schedule, and both undergraduate and graduate tuition remission for among other benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Content creation: Writing engaging posts, developing visual graphics, creating video content, and curating relevant material for different social media platforms.
- Strategy development: Identifying target audiences, setting goals, creating a content calendar, and designing campaigns to achieve desired results. Responding to comments and messages and fostering positive interactions.
- Analytics and reporting: Tracking key metrics like impressions, engagement, reach, and conversions to measure campaign performance and identify areas for improvement. Staying up-to-date with emerging social media trends, platforms, and best practices to incorporate into strategies.
- Collaboration: Regularly collaborate with other stakeholders on campus managing social media accounts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
- Excellent writing, communication skills, creative thinking and visual design capabilities
- Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, etc.) and platforms (X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube)
- Knowledge of photo, video and audio editing software
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with content management systems and digital marketing platforms.
- Create new content inspired by institutional brand guidelines.
- Ability to establish and nurture effective working relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Foster creativity and innovation within the team to develop engaging and effective content.
