Social Media Specialist Assistant
Job Title: Social Media Specialist Assistant
Do you pride yourself on your perfectly crafted DMs and texts? Do you have a habit of inciting passionate conversations in the TikTok comments section? Could you ghostwrite your friends’ tweets and texts in your sleep? You might be the savvy social media pro we’re looking for! Our literary public relations and marketing firm, Meryl Moss Media Group, is on the lookout for an expert communicator to bolster our authors’ social media platforms and bring social media book campaigns to life.
You will assist our social media director by keeping our authors’ accounts active and engaged. We have the primary posts handled; you’ll provide the cherry on top by finding engaging secondary content for Instagram stories, commenting on relevant posts, and finding likeminded individuals for our authors to follow and connect with.
When you aren’t connecting on behalf of our authors, you’ll form working relationships with a bevy of bookfluencers. This means messaging readers with snappy book summaries to gauge their interest in promoting our latest titles and keeping our database updated with contacts, noting the details and genre preferences that make each bookfluencer stand out. If you’re interested in the creative elements of social media marketing and management, our team will welcome your ideas and provide opportunities for you to execute concepts that align with client objectives.
This position is all about relationships: building them, maintaining them, and striving for effective connection across social media platforms! We’re looking for someone who can write in various voices, navigate social media platforms with ease, and manage several modes of outreach throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Maintain social media engagement on behalf of several authors
- Keep up with emerging social media trends and topics
- Manage and track influencer outreach for social media PR campaigns
- Add to our existing database of bookish social media contacts
- Bring a fresh perspective to ongoing campaigns and projects
- Construct straightforward graphics on Canva or Photoshop as needed
- Provide administrative support to our social media director
Requirements
- One year of commensurate experience in social media, communications, or marketing
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to write in voices other than your own
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, LinkedIn)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised
- Strong time management, organizational skills and follow-through
- Familiarity with Canva/Photoshop (and passion for reading/writing) is a plus
