QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, digital communications, marketing, or related field; minimum of 1 year of social media management experience; Master's degree preferred.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Social Media Specialist at Lindenwood University will create and oversee engaging social media campaigns to enhance communication and promote the university's strategic initiatives.

- Develops and manages Lindenwood’s social media communication strategies in coordination with various departments and University strategic initiatives
- Maintains responsibility for Lindenwood’s brand and communication across social media and digital platforms
- Monitors all social media platforms for appropriate content and executes updates
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive and proactive social media use policy and agreement database utilized by all employees and approved social media platform administrators
- Identifies and evaluates emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Brainstorms new and creative strategies for fueling social engagement and increasing reach across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Develops benchmarks for assessing social media campaign success; regularly analyzes, reviews, and reports on strategies
- Oversees and mentors social media intern(s), providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and understanding of digital marketing strategies

Supports the missionof the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence

Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values
- Prioritizes service recovery in the event of negative comments or responses to align with Q2 culture of excellence
- Develops training materials; provides social media coaching and training for faculty and staff
- Responds to all inquiries and direct messages on behalf of the University
- Oversees campus-wide social media advisory committee formed to make recommendations and provide strategic guidance for secondary social media channels
- Collaborates with and frequently leads internal teams tasked with key projects, including digital initiative and project management support and engagement initiatives for special events
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, digital communications, marketing, or related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in social media management or digital communications
- Master’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Highly creative
- Experience in identifying key trends and delivering social media content that is timely, relevant, and on-brand
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni and community and media partners
- Highly organized with ability to multi-task
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use good judgment and think critically

- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function
- Adequately mobile to attend events on campus
