We seek a Business Development Manager who is able to apply their customer obsession towards building programs that support Amazon's Black Business Accelerator. Your work will directly help build sustainable equity and growth for Black entrepreneurs by enabling their success as sellers. We are seeking an experienced Amazonian with a high-judgment and a deep business orientation that could be used as we innovate internal alliances with other Amazon Teams to build our new SBD go-to-market strategies.

This highly visible role will internally work within Amazon to build go-to-market (GTM) strategies, drive revenue, establish partnerships, with leadership across the company to propel and amplify business growth of the undiscovered and small business partners on the Amazon stores. This can include deal management or partner development with other programs, like AWS or Alexa, to drive GTM plans for a product or service for the SPs in USBA.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, extremely organized, and collaborative orchestrator. They are a skilled facilitator and have an unbridled passion for data and strategy, with strong brand marketing, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. The candidate will think big to deliver new ideas and creative approaches to constantly improve the experience of BBA participants. They will think strategically about how to develop and report metrics and KPIs that will inform the BBA Advisory Council and internal council agendas. They will think creatively on how the BBA Advisory Council expertise and executive presence can be used to drive collaboration with other organizations in the space. The candidate embraces ambiguity, ramps up quickly on complex issues. They will utilize their attention to detail, experience in program management, and excellent written communication skills to ensure high quality results.

Key job responsibilities
  • Develop and drive monthly/quarterly/annual/long-term growth objectives for new and existing minority-owned businesses across Amazon's platforms
  • Create a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with USBA and overall Amazon strategies to drive awareness, acquisition, engagement, and revenue
  • Build and manage a pipeline of minority-owned businesses, assess opportunity size, and prioritize to deliver business development initiatives that achieve strategic goals
  • Pitch and negotiate with new and existing minority-owned businesses to drive partnerships and collaborations, leveraging both economic and non-economic incentives (e.g., tech integration, marketing support, program opportunities)
  • Monitor and optimize business performance to achieve goals, developing reporting methodologies and owning data analysis and measurement
  • Represent the voice of minority-owned businesses to all stakeholders, driving cross-functional solutions and tech innovations to meet their most critical needs
  • Influence internal stakeholder leaders across business, marketing, finance, program, product, and tech teams, including seeking roadmap resourcing
  • Create both simplified, scalable solutions and Think Big opportunities for minority-owned businesses, identifying net new opportunities to drive growth
  • Develop strategies to drive awareness, acquisition, engagement, and revenue for promotional and seasonal events featuring minority-owned businesses

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
