Our Sr Director, Marketing and Corporate Communications is a highly visible role that is responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing to drive revenue growth and brand visibility. This includes developing and executing marketing strategies, managing budgets and aligning marketing efforts with the overall business objectives. The Sr Director has a deep understanding of how AORN’s portfolio of products and services deliver value to perioperative professionals, as well as to business segments including Healthcare Organizations, Industry, and Membership. The priority is to create and implement dynamic marketing-communications strategies to achieve business goals across segments, AORN Syntegrity, the Association’s annual convention, publications, and other lines of business. The Sr Director has the knowledge and ability to oversee and manage large cross-departmental projects and foster collaboration to ensure that effective go-to-market strategies are in place, including pricing, sales support, and marketing campaigns to promote and support the development of new products and services.
The Marketing team includes Creative Services, Digital, B2B & B2C Product Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Email Marketing. The Sr Director is responsible for leading the company’s corporate communications strategy, including media relations, stakeholder engagement and Board training and support to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging. This role will work closely with the Corporate Communications team to proactively identify and address potential issues that could impact the brand or corporate reputation. The Sr Director will create advanced response plans and oversee the successful execution of these plans, ensuring alignment with the AORN’s values and mission.
AORN is based in Denver, CO. Our Sr Director, Marketing and Corporate Communications will work remotely.

- Creates the overall marketing strategic vision that impacts the current and future state of the organization to promote AORN as the industry leader in clinical education and practice support for perioperative professionals.
- Develops marketing objectives consistent with business goals, assesses potential risks and opportunities to implement the best course of action.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of the AORN Enterprise portfolio, audience segments, and AORN Syntegrity to lead the Marketing-Communications Department in creating integrated marketing plans that drive growth and support sales teams.
- Presents strategic vision clearly and persuasively to executive leadership.
- Leads the Marketing Department in creating integrated marketing plans for the segments and AORN Syntegrity.
- Utilizes strong skills in leadership and management to develop the AORN Marketing Department as a best-in-class marketing team.
- Collaborates with business leaders and executives in new product/program strategies and development across the enterprise.
- Uses knowledge of cutting-edge marketing principles and technologies that enable AORN to effectively reach existing and potential customers through digital and other relevant emerging channels.
- Ensures that AORN leverages appropriate marketing platforms and tools to achieve AORN’s business objectives.

Must Have’s to be our Sr Director, Marketing and Corporate Communications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a marketing management role with demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring and developing staff.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience overseeing each of the following areas of marketing: traditional/brand marketing, B2B product marketing, digital marketing, social media marketing, and communications & public relations.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare marketing, including expertise in marketing for healthcare facilities and the medical industry, with a strong understanding of nursing practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree.
- Experience working for or with a Member Association.
- Experience working with boards of directors and/or trustees.

- Strong communicator with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization to build consensus.
- Demonstrated innovation tactics that can be translated into practical application to assist the marketing team in achieving goals.
- Strong interpersonal and team building skills, and a proven ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and execute to accomplish strategic objectives.
