THE RUNDOWN

Playfly Sports is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team.


The Senior Financial Analyst will play an important role in providing insights on Playfly Media’s overall financial performance and performing data analyses. The Playfly Media Finance team partners with and supports all functions across the entire Playfly Media ecosystem. This role will understand the drivers of revenue and expenses and create financial forecasts that drive critical strategic decisions.


WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Complete month-end, quarter-end and year-end close tasks, including but not limited to preparing journal entries, variance reconciliations, reporting and analysis
  • Prepare the weekly sales pacing and derive key insights from sales trends
  • Complete the financial planning & analysis process, including building and maintaining financial projections in connection with periodic forecasts and the annual budget
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to be utilized in monthly close and management meetings
  • Partner with business, finance and accounting teams across the organization to identify and help develop initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting and reporting tools, processes, and methodologies
  • Review current business flows and processes and recommend improvements to increase productivity
  • Provide support for ad-hoc projects and financial analyses, including developing models for deal structures with current and prospective media partners
  • Oversee the calculation, review, and payment of monthly sales commissions
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business
  • 3 – 5 years relevant work experience; media experience a plus
  • Strong financial acumen and grasp of corporate finance fundamentals, including experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Expert at data management including data acquisition, analysis, data integrity management, metrics management and reporting
  • Strong Excel skills with experience in creating and refining financial models
  • Proficiency with other Microsoft office applications is a benefit
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Must be able to exercise independent judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects timely and accurately
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to partner across a broad array of groups

TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This role will take place in a quiet office setting
  • Minimal travel required to attend all-hands company conferences

COMPENSATION

The pay range for this role is $90,000 to $100,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
