QUALIFICATIONS

SHORT DESCRIPTION
The Sr Manager of Community Engagement will develop and execute marketing and communication strategies to enhance the reach and impact of the Restoring Hope ministry at American Bible Society, aiding in resource distribution to those in need.
JOB SUMMARY
The Restoring Hope ministry of American Bible Society empowers the Body of Christ with resources and programs grounded in Scripture and mental health best practices to help people move beyond pain into flourishing. We steward a library of these resources for a global community of practice that spans 113 countries and more than 33k trained healing group facilitators. To meet the significant demands of suffering people around the world, the Restoring Hope ministry is expanding its reach through new resources and more easily accessible programs.
The Sr Manager of Community Engagement will lead the critical work of cultivating new and current audiences to get these resources into the hands of those who most need them. S/he is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to engage new and current program users, broadening the impact and reach of ABS’s Restoring Hope ministry, supporting strategic initiatives and investments, and deepening relationships with program facilitators, ministry partners, and church leaders. S/he will serve as a strategic collaborator and thought partner to members of the team and across the organization, most especially with the Office of Marketing, to fulfill the Restoring Hope team’s ministry objectives as part of ABS’s mission to transform lives through God’s Word. S/he will be able to research and understand the evolving needs and goals of ABS’s Restoring Hope ministry to develop marketing and communications plans that will produce content to effectively support and accelerate those goals. Serve as primary liaison with key internal stakeholders and vendors executing and implementing Restoring Hope’s Strategic Marketing and Communications plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibility 1: Implement community engagement strategic plan. With direction from the Sr Director Restoring Hope and guidance from the Chief of Marketing, has ultimate responsibility for the development and execution via project management of an annual marketing and communications strategic plan that effectively supports and aligns all aspects of Restoring Hope's work. This plan will cover the full mix of communications and marketing tools, including media and public relations, internal communications, brand marketing, advertising, direct marketing, digital and social media and production of materials. The strategy will build ministry awareness, promote products and programs, and communicate activities and impact both externally and internally.
- Responsibility 2: Support Restoring Hope stakeholders in program launches, program and product development, digital ecosystem development, growth of engagement with core audiences, and events for ministry leaders and strategic partners. Work with stakeholders when they are launching a sub brand, program, product, or event to develop a comprehensive communications plan and content strategy that will help the team achieve its goals. This includes oversight of the development and rollout of the Restoring Hope umbrella brand and launch of the ministry from external and internal audiences.
- Responsibility 3: Work with the Restoring Hope team to develop and maintain KPI dashboards to ensure timely, data-driven decision making for mission strategy, and meaningful reporting to stakeholders. Collect and analyze data on the performance of marketing and communications tactics using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Active Campaign and other tools of the digital ecosystem, bringing a data-driven approach to ensure that all tactics are performing against goals and recommending adjustments where needed.
- Responsibility 4: Create content. Oversee the design, production and dissemination of marketing and communications collateral, as required. This includes the implementation, operation, monitoring and review of digital strategy with Restoring Hope’s existing website properties, as well as leading the creation of new web pages and microsites as needed. Produce and disseminate compelling content across all marketing channels, including the website, social, newsletters, blog, ads, earned media channels, etc., understanding the differences between channels and identifying what messages, stories, and content work best in each. Strengthen Restoring Hope's brand identity, ensuring visual integrity and message consistency in all external communications. Work effectively and efficiently with external vendors and communications team members to produce high-quality content.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area of study.
- Experience: Relevant experience in community engagement, with 5+ years creating high-level marketing and communications strategy and executing marketing campaigns, preferably in Christian non-profit organization(s); Marketing campaign budget creation and management; Program and product marketing experience to church and ministry leader audiences; Project management experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: 5+ years of social media management preferred; 5+ years of online and/or in-person event strategy, promotion, and management; 5+ years of Google Ad campaign management; 5+ years of paid social media advertising management; Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager experience; KPI and marketing campaign reporting experience; SEO experience; Expert-level experience creating strategy and building marketing automations in ActiveCampaign or similar platforms; Extensive knowledge and experience of Monday.com or other PM software (Trello, Jira, Basecamp, Miro, Asana, ClickUp); Experience with Microsoft 360 and Teams strongly preferred; Understanding of today’s technology trends, specifically with system automation and AI integration
