The Sr. Manager of Marketing will implement and manage the marketing plan and budget, focusing on promotions and revenue generation for gaming and racing while leading a marketing team.
General Definition: Sr. Manager of Marketing will implement and facilitate the annual marketing plan and budget. As a key member of the marketing leadership team, incumbent will participate in strategic planning, analysis, and forecasting. Incumbent will be responsible for promotions, event planning and execution, preparation and presentation of executive summaries, and will partner with the Corporate Marketing and Special Events Manager on Print, Broadcast, Online, Digital, Mobile and Online Advertising.

Supervision Exercised: Marketing, Sponsorships, Club Remington, Broadcasting & Racing Publications/Print Shop Departments
Essential Job Functions:
- Execute the annual marketing plan and the measurable goals, strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve overall organizational business goals, including increasing brand awareness and market share, new customer acquisition and customer retention.
- Manage the annual budget according to an approved annual marketing plan; oversee expenses to maintain acceptable margins; approve invoices for payment; review budget reports monthly and revise as necessary.
- Provide leadership and direction to staff handling advertising, production, media planning, database marketing, market and customer research, special events, promotions.
- Achieve maximum revenue in each targeted market segment for gaming and racing, and support food and beverage management in maximizing their revenue.
- Identify, develop, implement and utilize a variety of analytical tools to improve marketing management decision making.
- Meet regularly with marketing department staff, department managers and other RP staff to coordinate promotions.
- Anticipate and react to changes in competition, planning assumptions and alter plans as necessary.
- Partner with gaming department to develop promotions and special offers; coordinate, promote, and measure results of each, modify accordingly; and communicate how promotions and special offers will be advertised.
- Partner with property management team to create new services, amenities, merchandising, aesthetics, and products that respond to the customers' changing needs and desires.
- Maximize use of players' club membership efficiently to increase play, and visits of targeted members; partner with Corporate Marketing and Special Events Manager to develop communication plan and identify tiers; coordinate direct mail and e-mail programs including monthly newsletters, birthday cards, etc.; measure results of all activities and evaluate; research and modify accordingly.
- Partnering with the Corporate Marketing and Special Events Manager and Agency partner, oversee research, evaluation, negotiation, scheduling, and contracts for media space, time, location, and promotional packages; measure results, analyze, and modify accordingly.
- Partnering with the Corporate Marketing and Special Events Manager and Agency partner, develop creative strategies as needed, supervise production of print ads, broadcast spots, collateral materials, promotional merchandise, signage (on-site and off), website, internet communications, and outdoor; oversee logo usage; contract with and supervise activities of ad agency and/or production houses.
- Oversee staff who manage RP sponsorship and donation requests. Staff will actively research and evaluate desirable sponsorship opportunities; and, develop and implement plans for each to maximize revenue and measure results.
- Oversee management of web site, including continued development, monitoring web traffic reports and responding to web site inquiries or forwarding as appropriate to RP department heads, and GGS Executives.
- Oversee department staff who will coordinate regular surveys of guests of the casino/racetrack; Work with outside research firms to collect and analyze primary data from the target market area; and collect competitive and secondary industry research and use where applicable, all of which is to be used in producing and/or modifying the annual marketing plan.
- Oversee staff that will identify entertainment and special events that target our market to achieve strategic goals; maximize use of the property, monitor promotion, production, and post-event activities; collect necessary data to evaluate success, make changes as necessary to maximize revenues and profitability.
- Management accountability for all team members to include hiring, training and developing team members, which includes coaching, mentoring and appropriate performance management.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing or a related field
- MBA preferred, but not required
- 3-5 years' experience in casino/racing/hospitality marketing with high sales volume and budget management.
- 5+ years' casino marketing experience encompassing player demographics, strategies, event planning, and players club operations.
- Progressive marketing roles with increasing responsibility.
- Proven success developing marketing campaigns targeting high-value players.
- Experience promoting premium player programs.
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree

- Familiarity with casino management systems, specifically ATI Oasis Operating System and OneLink, is a plus.
- Strong communication skills: professional and effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills and abilities required
- Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
- Must be able to work in a smoke-filled casino environment
Training:
- Must be able to pass Title 31 Training
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functions
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result
