Seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to lead marketing efforts for the government sector, focusing on emerging trends and customer engagement while driving product innovation and superior customer experience.

This position can be based anywhere in the US.

We are hiring a Senior Marketing Manager in Steelcase’s Enterprise Customer Vertical Marketing Organization. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to serve as Steelcase’s subject matter expert (SME) for the government sector. In this role, the successful candidate will be required to become deeply entrenched in this key vertical market (Federal and SLG) and maintain a strong network of industry contacts across the country. The Senior Marketing Manager will play a critical role in identifying emerging trends, creating meaningful marketing campaigns, driving new product innovation, and ensuring the delivery of a superior customer experience.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Become the go-to expert in the Federal Government and SLG customer vertical, staying current with industry trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a robust network of industry professionals and stakeholders.
  • Identify and analyze emerging trends and unmet needs within the vertical market.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Design, and Brand Communications teams to ensure alignment on go-to-market strategies that drive for greater competitiveness and profitability.
  • Partner with the Sales Enablement team to create new marketing content and experiences to increase sales within your vertical market.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to support new product introductions and existing product portfolio enhancements.
  • Develop annual business plans and marketing strategies to generate demand with purposeful messaging, targeted campaigns, focused marketing collateral, and directed merchandising.
  • Engage with key customers and industry influencers to gather feedback and understand both current and emerging needs.
  • Leverage data science, data analytics and internal research teams to identify, synthesize and monetize emerging insights and trends.
  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Management team and Product Development Studio to refine current product offerings and new product development ideas that address specific needs within the vertical.

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficiency in market research, trend analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Ability to learn Steelcase’s go-to-market strategies and strong linkages to Sales, Marketing and Channel Development functions with a solid understanding of the sales process.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
  • Graduate degree (MBA) preferred or equivalent working experience.
  • 5+ years of product marketing, agency, or in-field sales experience preferred.
