Bachelor's degree preferred in a related sports or recreational field, expert knowledge of tennis ratings and rankings systems, three years of experience as a tournament director, proficient with Serve Tennis and Microsoft Office products, and ability to travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement USTA Florida’s tournament structure, serve as the main contact for youth player development, monitor tournaments, communicate with Youth Tournament Directors, assist with workshops, maintain program budgets, collaborate with marketing, and participate in cross-department project teams.

Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for the implementation of USTA Florida’s tournament structure and is the subject matter expert on ratings and rankings through the Florida Section. The Youth Tennis Program Coordinator serves as the main point of contact for parents, players and coaches regarding the youth development pathway.
Essential Functions
- Serve as USTA Florida’s subject matter expert on player development matters, including camps, ratings, rankings, and overall player pathway.
- Monitor tournaments weekly to ensure proper adherence to tournament guidelines.
- Coordinate and execute weekly pre-tournament e-mail communications and reminders to Youth Tournament Directors.
- Publish designated tournaments on-line and manage USTA Florida calendar.
- Assists with workshops and trainings for providers to educate and advance USTA Florida’s player pathway and products.
- Serves as the main point of contact for parents and players seeking information on youth play opportunities, ratings, rankings and overall player development.
- Attend USTA National Player Development manager calls and workshops.
- Assist with sanctioning and scheduling process.
- Assist with executing USTA Florida Youth events and tournaments, including the Bobby Curtis Sectional Championship tournaments.
- Works collaboratively with the Youth Team Play Manager to integrate and advance team play opportunities (Splitz, Team Tennis, High School Tennis) in the Florida tennis eco-system.
- Work with Director to monitor program budget(s) to meet fiscal objectives in accordance with USTA Florida’s procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with Marketing department to update and add content to web pages, social media and email marketing channels.
- Participate in cross-department project teams.

Travel Demands
- Must be adaptable and flexible in travel demands on the local/regional level and be prepared to travel/work on multiple weekends throughout the year
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related sports or recreational field
- Expert knowledge of tennis ratings and rankings systems, including WTN and UTR
- Three years of experience as a tournament director
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a record that meets our company’s insurance standards
- Must have the ability to travel and have reliable transportation
- Proficient with Serve Tennis (tournament software)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Office 365, and Outlook
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must have a professional and positive attitude
- Must be able to pass the USTA Safe Play and USTA Florida Section background checks
