Job Descriptive Summary
The most valued and successful Auro Pharmacies, Inc., doing business as Central Drugs Non-Sterile Compounding/Retail Pharmacist is passionate about Customer Service. They are self-motivated, forward-thinking, and quick on their feet. They will be able to successfully plan, manage their time, and optimize the Customer experience. This includes, but is not limited to, and may slightly change based upon location, being responsible for ensuring that all compounding ingredients meet quality, identity and purity expectations, that compounded products processed are of acceptable strength, quality, purity, have appropriate packaging and labeling, are prepared in accordance with good compounding practices governed by United States Pharmacopeia (USP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and produced on-time to meet key deliverable goals and deadlines; training and supervising Non-Sterile Lab Pharmacy Technicians ("Techs") regarding compliance with all required procedures and standards, and ensuring that compounding conditions are adequate for preventing errors and effectively, efficiently, consistently producing quality products, which allows the Auro Team to continually ensure one-hundred percent (100%) Customer satisfaction.
This position is responsible for the overall success of the pharmacy including timely turnaround time in the lab, reaching OTC and prescription targets, managing expenses and inventory levels, motivating and helping staff reach their peak performance levels, creating a positive impression with customers that reinforces the pharmacy brand; ensuring accuracy when filling prescriptions.
Supervision
This position supervises clerks, Intern Pharmacists, retail and compounding technicians.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Customer Service
- Ensures one-hundred percent (100%) Customer satisfaction by maintaining a professional, friendly, approachable work environment;
- Possesses strong knowledge of compounding preparations and techniques including ability to understand and complete math calculations for making topical gels, creams, capsules, ointments, supplements and solutions using lab training logs with one-hundred percent (100%) status or significant progression based upon weekly reports;
- Proven ability to manage, and train Team Members on, the accurate, proficient, safe use of all laboratory equipment;
- Effectively and efficiently manages chemical inventory including, but not limited to, the location of medications in the pharmacy and stock of inventory (creams, capsules, ointments, supplements, solutions) and familiarity with all chemicals;
- Ensures proper management of hazardous chemicals including, but not limited to, knowledge of hazardous chemicals, handling and storage of chemicals including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
- Active participation in regular yet focused and streamlined meetings with Pharmacist In Charge and senior leadership to provide updated reports on schedule and what is happening in the pharmacy as required;
- Supervises and provides training and development for new and existing Team Members including regular feedback, training, increasing competency and skill and ensuring that they are consistently focused on proficiently building non-sterile compounds for Customers and demonstrating the Company culture of a pleasant and enjoyable place to work;
- Proven ability to maintain successful day-to-day operations within the Pharmacy area and with the entire Team; always acts as a fully present, engaged, and Teamwork excellence role model;

- Stays current in skill set and completes at least fifteen (15) hours of training every year;

- Reliably demonstrates proficient knowledge of Non-Sterile lab daily routines and record keeping in a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) lab, which is compliant to the most current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards;
- Responsible for documentation management, including, but not limited to, ability to create, update and maintain all documentation related to current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), master formula worksheets, log sheets, cleaning logs, scale, temperature and equipment logs, documenting errors, and training Techs on how to prevent errors;

Education and Experience
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required; current and valid California Board Of Pharmacy Pharmacist License is required at the time of hire and also must be consistently maintained as current throughout tenure with the Company (i.e., it can never lapse while you're working with Auro);
Work Experience: A minimum of two years' pharmacy experience required;
Industry Knowledge: Requires comprehensive knowledge of practices, principles, methods, and equipment utilized in providing Pharmaceutical services; strong attention to detail; ability to analyze complex tasks, systems, problems, and design and implement the most effective and efficient solution; working knowledge of personal computers, credit card processing hardware and software, Microsoft Office;
