SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Arizona Diamondbacks are seeking a Stage Manager to support game day activities, ensuring a fan-focused and positive environment while executing pre-game and in-game production elements.

Stage Manager
Position Summary:
The Arizona Diamondbacks are actively recruiting individuals to work directly with our Game Presentation department to serve in the role of Stage Manager. A Stage Manager provides operational support to game day activities of the Diamondbacks production team. This position serves as an extended representation of the Diamondbacks brand and will help execute facets of pre-game set up, pre-game ceremonies, and in-game features. Ideal candidates will be fan-focused, positive, passionate, proactive and welcoming.
Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Game:
    • Attend pre-game meeting – receive game duties and instructions as well as review all necessary items.
    • Responsible for selecting age and ability-appropriate individuals to participate in activities or contests.
    • Execute assigned Pre-game Parades, Performances, Ceremonies, National Anthem, and Ceremonial First Pitch.
    • Double-check all facts and details for all recognitions, including but not limited to pronunciations, facts and locations.
    • Prepare for in-game features– confirm participants, set up props, etc.
  • In-Game:
    • Communicate clear and concise messaging to entertainment team, director and fans/contestants.
    • Execute in-game features, including production cues, location changes, placement of props and talent locations.
    • Meet all In-game participants – thoroughly explain field instructions and conduct rehearsals if necessary.
    • Double-check all facts and details for all features, including but not limited to pronunciations, facts and locations.
  • Post-Game:
    • Collect all props and game presentation items and return them to assigned locations.
    • Assist with any scheduled post-game activities.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Experience in stage management in sports or theater.
  • Candidates must be willing to commit to a minimum of 40 Diamondbacks home games during the regular season (including weekdays and weekends).
  • Candidates must be available for in-person training and orientation sessions at Chase Field before the season starts.
  • Sports marketing, entertainment, promotions, and/or customer service experience are preferred, however not required.
  • Knowledge of and enjoyment of baseball is preferred, however not required.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time and lift objects up to 30lbs
  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, jumping, running, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.
