Summer Intern - Underwriting - Professional Liability, Chicago, Il
LOCATION
This is a 10-week, paid internship from June 2, 2025, to August 8, 2025, with a hybrid work arrangement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Risk Management and Insurance (other majors encouraged), a GPA of 3.0 or above, rising Junior or Senior status, strong analytical skills, effective communication, attention to detail, and prior work experience preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Train with key team members in underwriting and servicing renewal accounts, evaluate and price renewal business, participate in a collaborative group project, and perform other tasks as needed throughout the internship.

This intern position requires strong analytical skills applied in learning all aspects of the evaluation and pricing of Admiral renewal business in accordance with service standards, objectives, and following Admiral underwriting guidelines.
The internship will also involve a collaborative group project with interns from other Admiral departments. Other duties and tasks to be assigned in conjunction with the overall internship experience over the course of approximately 10 weeks.
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Risk Management and Insurance. Other majors are encouraged to apply.
- GPA of 3.0 and above is required.
- Rising Junior or Senior students welcome.
- Interest in enhancing classroom learning through practical career-related work experience within the industry.
- Career interest in insurance, Claims/Excess and Surplus Lines
- Prior work experience is preferred.
- Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently.
